How come I never get to write a headline like this?
NEW York City has been pummeled by heavy rainfall that has left sea lions roaming free in the Central Park Zoo and residents stranded during their commutes. Residents from Brooklyn to Manhattan have been spotted wading through feet-deep waters on the streets, underground in the subways, and even at area airports.
The Central Park Zoo was closed due to the storm, but that didn't stop a sea lion from escaping her enclosure. Flooding caused the pool to spill over, which prompted the sea lion's escape.
"Zoo staff monitored the sea lion as she explored the area before returning to the familiar surroundings of the pool and the company of the other two sea lions," Jim Breheny, director of the Bronx Zoo and executive vice president of the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Zoos and Aquarium, said in a statement.
The sea lion never breached the secondary perimeter, Breheny said.
They just don't know how to play fair, do they? These friggin' Dems...
Democrat Rep. Jamal Bowman (left) was allegedly caught on camera (security footage, middle) pulling the fire alarm in the Cannon Building, which houses numerous Congressional office spaces, as thee house was voting to prevent a government shutdown. Bowman's antics led to an evacuation of the building, which came as House representatives were readying to vote on a bill that would avert a government shutdown less than 12 hours before a deadline.
Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (right) lead the condemnation of Bowman while the GOP is working on a resolution to expel him from Congress. Bowman's stunt did not stop the bill which was passed 335-91 to keep the government funded for 45 days while the bill heads to the Senate. Speaker Kevin McCarthy dared his conservative critics to try to oust him as they have long threatened in a press conference after the vote. The story is here:

You know the old saying about 'Once bitten, twice shy'?
Well, there's also the old adage 'Third time's a charm'.
It appears neither of them is 100% accurate - there are even studies to explain why this is such a fucked-up statistic.
You can read about it here if you're a two-time loser:

Read this article - it'll make you rethink that bucket-list vacation trip you've been yearning for to Poland:
Are new battle lines being drawn? Hannity may have the answer when they debate on November 30th...
One is a liberal oasis, where gas is taxed heavily and the proceeds spent on green energy projects. The other is run by a governor who has gone to war with Disney and is denounced by opponents as a fascist. So where would Americans rather live: Gavin Newsom's California or Ron DeSantis' Florida?
The answer is Florida, according to an exclusive poll for DailyMail.com (find that article here: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12575553 ), giving an insight into what the 2024 election might look like if the two major parties changed course and opted to nominate a younger generation of leader.
Even NBC news chimed in on the subject the other day:

Identity politics raises it's ugly head again in the Land of Fruits and Nuts...
Yeah - forget all about qualifications and experience, go right after what you think will get you votes down the road. I dare you to tell me this pandering jerkoff isn't gonna run for President in '24. I'll wait right here.

I first saw Jethro Tull in Wildwood, NJ in the summer
of 1971 with YES as their opening act...
I've been an Ian Andersen fan since I first heard that album back in High School. They will be touring this summer on what they're calling their 'Seven Decades Tour'. Tickets are reasonable and it might be a lot of fun. Wuddya think?
Tour dates and ticket prices are in this post:

The usual suspects are going crazy in the City of 'Brother'-ly Love...
Nine Philadelphia liquor stores will be closed for days or weeks as staff clean up the damage — and in some cases reevaluate security measures — after a series of nighttime break-ins and theft this week. Eighteen of the city’s 48 Fine Wine & Good Spirits locations were burglarized or robbed during the coordinated vandalism that hit several city neighborhoods overnight Tuesday.
At least one, the Adams Avenue location in Olney, was hit two nights in a row, with police reporting an early Thursday break-in there during which thieves shattered the windows and cleared out shelves.
After ALL city liquor stores were closed Wednesday, most locations planned to reopen about 11 a.m. yesterday, Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board spokesperson Shawn Kelly said. This item has not been updated, although city officials are claiming this 'rioting' (their words) are a result of protests against a decision a judge made about a cop shooting in the City.
