Elon Musk could lose his position as richest man after a Delaware judge's court ruling put the CEO's future fortune in jeopardy. A judge ruled on Tuesday that Musk must hand back the biggest pay packet in corporate history. Judge Kathleen McCormick found that the $55 billion awarded to Musk five years ago was a result of the CEO strong-arming Tesla directors. McCormick in her ruling found that the process leading to the board's approval of his 2018 compensation package was 'deeply flawed'. The South African businessman could lose his top spot in the rankings for wealthiest person.

Florida joins Kansas in fully banning transgender residents from updating their gender markers on their driver's licenses.
In Kansas, a temporary order is in place banning changes while an ongoing legal battle between the Kansas Department of Revenue and the Republican attorney general plays out to determine whether that policy will stick, the Associated Press reported.
Data compiled by the Movement Advancement Project (MAP), a non-profit think tank researching LGBTQ-related policies, shows that the following states:
- Georgia
- Iowa
- Kentucky
- Louisiana
- Oklahoma
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Texas
require proof of surgery, a court order, or an amended birth certificate to permit changes to their gender on a driver's license. These are considered to have "negative laws", which are burdensome requirements that may prevent people from being able to make the change at all.

The Post is reporting today that Harvard University’s chief diversity and inclusion officer has been hit with dozens of plagiarism allegations tied to her academic work — including one claim she failed to properly cite her own husband’s study.
The Ivy League school was handed an anonymous complaint on Monday listing at least 40 examples of alleged plagiarism by Sherri Ann Charleston dating back to 2009 — a decade before she joined Harvard. The allegations, which include failing to properly cite other scholars’ work and not referencing them in footnotes, come just weeks after Harvard University president Claudine Gay resigned from her top post after becoming embroiled in a scandal over charges that she plagiarized work and her handling of antisemitism on campus.

Elon Musk, the founder of the neurotechnology company Neuralink, has said the first human received an implant from the brain-chip startup and is recovering well. The surgery is not a surprise: the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had given the company clearance in September to carry out the first trial of its implant on humans.

NJ.com is reporting that the U.S. State Department has issued a security warning and travel advisory for the Bahamas after 18 people were murdered in one month. The government agency added that the country is dangerous for tourists due to crime, especially in the island nation’s capital of Nassau.
“Murders have occurred at all hours including in broad daylight on the streets,” the U.S. Embassy in Nassau said in a statement, “Retaliatory gang violence has been the primary motive in 2024 murders.
