I first saw Jethro Tull in Wildwood, NJ in the summer
of 1971 with YES as their opening act...
I've been an Ian Andersen fan since I first heard that album back in High School. They will be touring this summer on what they're calling their 'Seven Decades Tour'. Tickets are reasonable and it might be a lot of fun. Wuddya think?
Tour dates and ticket prices are in this post:

Whenever I hear the Aqualung lyrics, I immediately think of degenerate Joe Biden.
ReplyDeleteI saw Jethro Tull in 1980 in Tallahassee. We got stopped by the cops coming back in GA. Our designated driver was sober but the rest of us in the mini-van were ripped. The Thomasville police decided we needed to sleep it off in their jail. No charges, but we flushed a lot of stuff down their toilets that night.
ReplyDeleteTull is me favorite band, saw em first in 75 as a 12 year old, babysitters took me!
ReplyDeleteI have seen the band over a 100 times thru the decades, needless to say am a fanatic!
With all that be honest,Anderson's voice is shot and lets face it,he is 76 so no more standing on one leg during long flute solos!
That said, will be seeing what is left of the band(Ian) end of this month as feel if I do not will regret it!
The recent live videos while mostly cringe worthy do so the way Ian always winds up the end of songs which I
have always loved, will be brief moments of happiness for me which in todays world will take and cherish!
The night I first partook of the magic weed was also the first night I was exposed to the magic of Jethro Tull....the album was Sand Up as I recall, and when you opened the album the band literally stood up from the center....the next was Benefit, and so on, and I've been a fan ever since....always admired Ian Anderson and his walk through life being totally undefined by anyone else....a true free spirit....
