Who will stand with Trump in to November? Interesting question...

Republicans have launched their 2026 midterm effort with messaging that deliberately omits Donald Trump's name. Internal polling has shown persistent weakness on inflation, gas prices and tariff impacts, prompting the party to test generic appeals to Republican voters instead. The approach comes as the former president remains the dominant figure in the party's base yet carries measurable drag in broader surveys.
The stakes extend beyond one election cycle. Persistent price pressures have kept economic discontent high, and attempts to blame prior administration policies have not reversed the downward trend in GOP numbers.
By stripping Trump references from campaign materials, party strategists hope to broaden appeal without confronting the underlying voter frustration over costs and trade policy.
