Life in Florida is fickle. Florida driving season is here, which means you can go from sunshine and palm trees to a flooded road and a surprise road closure in about 15 minutes. One minute you’re cruising with the windows down, and the next you’re staring at a “ROAD CLOSED” sign because somebody underestimated how much rain Florida can dump in one afternoon.
Then come the thunderstorms, standing water, slick roads, tourists braking for absolutely no reason, and that one pickup driver who believes four-wheel drive makes hydroplaning impossible. Keep your tires in good shape, slow down when the rain gets heavy, leave some room, and remember: The first person in the ditch is usually the one who said, “It’s just a little Florida rain.”
