The passenger – who was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and one earphone – crouched and swayed as he held onto the back of an L train traveling between the city’s 40th Street and 46th Street stations in the footage shared online Tuesday, NBC10 reported. The man’s reckless stunt was recorded by stunned passengers inside the train car, who uploaded it to social media and opted for the “Spider-Man” theme tune.
The man’s bizarre behavior is now at the center of a SEPTA investigation. “I don’t understand what makes people want to do something this dangerous,” Marc Pasquarella, the SEPTA police captain, said. “It’s insane. It’s extremely dangerous. Obviously, falling off the train, seriously injured or killed.” Pasquarella fears there will be copycats after footage went viral.
