Democrats demanded radical reforms of how agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) operate.
But here's the funny/sad part. ICE is fully funded no matter what the Dims do, because it's funding was included in that Big Beautiful whatever-the-fuck bill thing.
The shutdown effectively closes down the Cyber Security Agency as well. Now'd be a good time for the ChiComs to attack our grid, wouldn'tja say? And - one more slightly off-topic. Why is the Coast Guard under DHS and not the Dept. of War? Juss' sayin'...
