Artemis is a no-go. Damn...

NASA was forced to call off its highly anticipated Artemis I mission
this morning following several issues that now leaves the world’s most powerful rocket grounded until September 2. Engineers were working against the clock to troubleshoot an issue with engine 3, which was not reaching the proper temperature and experiencing an engine bleed that was not tested during the last wet rehearsal due to a fuel leak that cut the event short. The issues were identified around 7:30am ET and the launch was officially scrubbed at a8:35am ET and now the tens of thousands of people who attended the event are now heading home without seeing the first stage of the epic moon mission kick off. NASA says it will collect data on the engine bleed and depending on what is gathered, the agency will attempt another launch on Friday at 12:48pm ET. The Artemis I mission is a vital first step if the US space agency is to achieve its goal of landing humans on the lunar surface in three years' time, possibly including the first woman and first person of color. If all goes to plan, another flight will follow in 2024 – this time with astronauts on board – before human boots once again grace the lunar surface a year later as part of NASA's ambitious $93 billion Artemis program.

  1. What a POS. Just cut your losses and let the boy at Space-X run things.

  2. They may eventually get their goal of landing a female and a PoC on the moon. The real question will be will they be able to get them back? Odds are not in their favor, if the launch staff is a DEI'd as the flight crew. Then the accusations will really fly!

  3. A real failure would be launching , followed by a big KABOOM .

But some things never change - NASA has determined the crew of the lander not by their skill or aptitude , but on the basis of skin color and gender . NASA needs to be run by engineers , not political hacks .
