Before passing the bill, Democrats defeated a GOP push to ban illegal immigrants from getting stimulus checks.

re" Why do they do it? They passed the bill so that they have one more thing to bludgeon Republicans and more importantly President Trump with. No other reason than that, 'cause they know that when it gets to the Senate it'll be killed outright or modified so heavily as to be unrecognizable from the bill they submitted and they can still say that the Republicans aren't looking out for the average citizen.
