This editorial is a little late to the game....

In yesterday's morning's Post, opinon writer Karol Markowicz says this about something we all understad, that: "This year’s presidential election seems to be more divisive and personal - friendships fraying, families fighting and acquaintances going their separate ways - than in years past. And nowhere is that more apparent than on Facebook. Facebook isn’t for politics - or at least, it shouldn’t be. This is hard for people to understand because politics has otherwise permeated every part of our culture, so why not the most social of social media?
Musicians lecture from the concert stage, professors sidebar their opinions in class, religious leaders deliver whole sermons about presidential candidates from the pulpit. People assume it’s normal to agitate for a candidate no matter their job and post positive information about their pick and negative information about the other guy (or gal)."
Well, I hate to tell her, but she's about ten years too late - that horse's been outta the barn for a long time. I can't count the number of 'friends' (an aphorism for 'people I know') I've either gotten rid of - or got 'unfriended' by them for challenging their viewpoints. The art - the science - of reasonable discourse is gone. Dead and buried. Kinda sad, actually...

That's only 34 cents per cup and it's GOOD coffee!

  1. It's called freedom of speech for a reason. Maybe she should go to Europe where you're not allowed to criticize the evil people destroying their counties. Maybe we can prevent that here but it's not looking good.
