Seattle is set to push its minimum wage to $22.14 an hour in 2027 - as job openings shrink and restaurants keep closing...
After 2025 rules forced all Seattle employers onto the same wage floor, owners cited rising labor costs among the pressures that shut doors. Roughly 450 restaurants - about 16% of the city’s total - closed in the first half of 2025 alone. Square data cited by The Wall Street Journal showed retail and restaurant transactions down as much as 7% in some districts.
Progressive cities keep betting higher mandated wages will lift workers. Businesses that actually hire are voting with closures and exits. Voters outside the blue stronghold can see the tradeoff in real time: higher floors, fewer open doors. Businesses cannot remain solvent when the government tells them how much they have to pay their employees. Everyone knows that, and yet...

54 percent of Americans say they drink alcohol, matching last year's low and the lowest figure since measurements began in 1939. The share who say they sometimes drink too much has fallen to 13 percent, compared with 35 percent in 1989.
The decline has been rapid. In 2023, 62 percent said they drank alcohol. In 2024 the figure was 58 percent, and by 2025 it had dropped to 54 percent. This year it held steady at the same level.

Can you figure out exactly which side of the DEI coin this graphic is on? It seems anti- but then again it doesn't. We all know that that DEI shit was not only stupid and pandering, but it was more than that in many ways. It was dangerous. It didn't reward hard work and merit. It favored one over the other based on bullshit criteria. It made fruitcakes, trannies and other nutjobs important for no other reason but their weirdness. I hope we're past that bullshit, butja never know ...

Hunter Biden's meme coin, $LAPTOP, trades at approximately $0.065 (that six and one-half cents for those of you in El Segundo) as of late September 2026, down over 99% from its brief launch-day peak.
It launched on September 9, 2026 on the Base network. Initially, it reached a high of roughly $190 to $222 per token within minutes. Current Price? Hovering around $0.065 following a rapid 99% collapse...

In two states where school-choice vouchers are available, many parents are choosing Catholic schools. After my own Catholic school experience, I think I know why. A school-choice battle has been under way in many states across the country.
Parents want vouchers so they can pay private-school tuition. Public-school officials want every penny kept in the public system. Most blue states have defeated school-choice efforts. Two red states, Florida and Texas, did not. Florida made every child eligible for a scholarship of roughly $6,500 to $8,000 - more than 525,000 students now use one.
Texas this year opened Education Freedom Accounts - about $10,000 a seat for private schools and has awarded more than 100,000 of them, with a waitlist still longer than the program. Unlike much of the country, where Catholic schools have been shuttering, more parents in Florida and Texas are choosing a Catholic education so their kids master right and wrong and get an excellent education.
