This is Isaias, forming in the Gulf of 'America' and getting stronger, heading for the Gulf Coast. Isaias continues to strengthen en route to landfall on the northern Gulf Coast by this weekend. The storm rapidly intensified into the Atlantic season’s first hurricane on Wednesday night.Isaias could near Category 3 strength, but will weaken some before making landfall as a larger hurricane by early Saturday morning. Feet of storm surge, up to 10 inches of rain, tornadoes and destructive winds are expected. States of emergency have been issued in parts of Alabama and Florida, where Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is urging residents to prepare. Mandatory evacuation orders have been issued in two counties in the Florida panhandle.
