Reporter Miłosz Sieliwończyk was in the middle of a live broadcast covering a separate fatal car crash for TVP.info - in which a young boy was tragically killed - when the terrifying wreck unfolded right behind him. “At one point, I heard a bang behind me and the operator’s shout: ‘Oh Jesus!’” he said.
As the driver sped off, Sieliwończyk ordered his cameraman to zoom in on the vehicle’s license plate to report it to police before walking over to assist the 14-year-old. First responders reached the scene within three minutes, and the injured teen asked to call her mother, who arrived on a bicycle a few minutes later.
Coupla things worth pointing out.The driver was most likely eyeballing the news crew instead of the road. Thankfully, the kid had a helmut on - probabaly saved her life. Finally, kids and e-bikes are a bad combination, period...

She was riding a safe speed on the side of the roadway and wearing a helmet. As much as I dislike e-bikes this one is completely on the motorist.

ReplyDeleteNot to mention the girl was going down the wrong side of the road on her e-bike/scooter when she got hit. And I suspect you are right about the driver paying attention to the wrong thing.
ReplyDeleteIf electric cars have to be licensed like a gas powered car.....and the operator has to have a license to operate said car....Then why in the heck aren't these electric conveyances also licensed like an electric vehicle?!!??!
