This is the lead paragraph from a report on the carriers leave port:
"Known as Sin City, the resort of Pattaya is like nowhere else on Earth. While it welcomes holidaymakers seeking winter sun, it is also home to a notorious red light area where a lonely sailor may be tempted to wander."
That 'lonely sailor' has been stuck on a boat with 3,000 other 'lonely sailors' for damn near a year and has more than eight month's pay in his kick.
Ya think he (or she) is gonna go to mass and light a candle? Fuck no they ain't. Like I said - whoever their commander is deserves a medal or two...

Yeah - well, the Babs was out shopping yesterday, and came back reporting that every single store she went in to (and that was probably no less than 20) was stacked to the rafters with Halloween shit. Just wait two weeks says I - they'll be pimpin' the fuck outta Christmas shit. Gross commercialisation is what it is.

According to a report in a leftie-leaning news source, conflict, migration and economic upheaval will accompany the global move away from oil, unless governments act urgently to help the worst afflicted countries to cope, research has found.
Nigeria, Iran, Angola and Algeria are among the countries that will be severely affected, as they rely strongly on oil revenues for their government and provision of public services, but have little diversification and too little capital to cushion the blow.
Oil use is already waning in many countries, with the growth of renewable energy, and has been hastened by the effects of the Iran war, which has constrained supply and sent prices soaring, triggering high inflation and political instability.
So - do you see what I see there? That's some kinda 'have their cake and eat it' kinda cause and effect. Lefties bitching and moaning about greenhouse this and that, and because their desired effect is actually taking effect, they're bitching about the problems that will occur. Yet another FAFO moment, kids. Speaking of 'cause and effect:
Ya know. Andy Warhol mighta been right all along. All of these so-called 'influencers' are doing just that - fighting for their fifteen minutes. Ya think I am too with what I do here? I do certainly appreciate our readers - you guys - but doing selfies and self-engrandisement? That just ain't my style, and I really don't think you guys'd tolerate it if it was. I'm just happy you guys like what we're doin' here. My 15 minutes sped by me 30 years ago.

Jelly Roll’s jokes about President Donald Trump have apparently cost him a high-profile gig. Organizers of the upcoming Big Blue Bash at Mar-a-Lago have withdrawn their invitation for the country star to perform following backlash over his guest-hosting appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Blue Lives Matter, which is organizing the fundraiser benefiting the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Foundation, didn’t mince words: “We’re DONE. You’re FIRED.” The group said inviting Jelly Roll had been a “mistake.”
During his Kimmel appearance, Jelly Roll joked about Trump’s weight, approval ratings and the administration’s trade dispute with Canada. When some fans threatened to stop listening, Jelly Roll didn’t apologize, saying, “Any U.S. president should be able to handle a few jokes.”
He also rejected claims that criticizing Trump made him a liberal, describing himself as politically moderate and pointing out that he’s a Christian and country singer.
But the explanation didn’t satisfy gala organizers, who accused him of “bashing President Trump and Conservatives.” The event is still expected to feature Dean Cain, Kevin Sorbo and Lou Ferrigno - but Jelly Roll is officially off the lineup.

I doubt that oil usage is down since oil is needed to make all the idiotic green energy crap that's being thrown at us.
ReplyDeleteJust a minor quibble: Jelly Roll ain't no "country singer". He's just one in a long line of pop or rap singers that thought he could reap a big reward from the genre.
ReplyDeleteBurger & fries my butt, who comes up with this bs?
ReplyDeleteHaving lived in the UK for most of the 80's & 90's, I'm not surprised they didn't make the list.
ReplyDeleteAny place with 'wet markets' selling vermin as protein doesn't deserve a #8 rating. Maybe Chinese restaurants not in China. Or not in Asia.
ReplyDeleteI spent 20 in the Navy, after getting married at 11 years in I decided to be loyal and cut out the messing around. It was not difficult because most of my friends were married and of the same mind about disloyalty. We mainly looked for a quiet bar with a grill. Pretty sure a very large number of those on Liberty just want to find a very quiet place to drink beer, call home and catch a few good meals in some better places to eat. Another consideration is that many of the crew will be working during this visit and will be taking apart catapults and arresting gear, performing intensive phase inspections on aircraft and finally, the Machinist Mates and other ratings will be going through the ship propulsion/electronic equipment for needed maintenance.
