Palestine isn't even a country, so...

A bozo waving a Palestinian flag ran onto the field at Yankee Stadium during Friday night’s Subway Series game - at 9:11 p.m. on the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The man stormed the field during the seventh inning of the Yankees-Mets game in The Bronx, waving the flag as the crowd erupted in anger. Some fans broke into chants of “USA! USA!” while others could be heard yelling “fuck you” at the man. A fan carrying a Palestinian flag is tackled by security on the baseball field. It wasn’t immediately clear how the unidentified protester got onto the field with the flag.

Palestine is recognized as a 'sovereign state' by a large majority of the world's nations, but its status as a fully independent country is debated and lacks universal recognition, simply explained because it doesn't exist. The United Nations treats Palestine as a "non-member observer state," a status it received in 2012. It does not have any voting or other rights as it would if it were an actual - what's the word for it? oh - 'country'.
Over 150 of the 193 UN member countries officially recognize the State of Palestine as a country, which only goes to prove that the majority of countries on this planet are populated by idiots. Countries like the United States and Israel do not recognize Palestine as an independent nation, arguing that statehood must come through direct political negotiations. The Palestinian territories they claim include the West Bank (including East Jerusalem) and the Gaza Strip. Israel occupies these regions and controls most of the borders, movement, and security. The Palestinian Authority, an ad hoc organization that promotes terrorism and other stupid shit handles local civil administration in parts of the West Bank, while the militant group Hamas maintains de facto control over the Gaza Strip. There's a pair to draw to, huh?

Years ago, all over Europe and the Caribean, in almost every country and on virtually every island, there were 'Honor Bars'. Usually in an alleyway in a town or a roadside stand,  the little bars were - for the most part - unattended little businesses where you helped yourself to whatever you wanted and paid based on a posted price sheet. Sadly, these have all but dissappeared over the years because people can't be trusted anymore...
There is a little restaurant in Italy where they take this concept in a different direction. There are no waiters. No menu. Just a fridge full of whatever's there that day. There are no servers of any kind and no bill at the end of your meal. You pay (if you want) what you feel your meal was worth. The owners are local vintners, cheesemakers, farmers and butchers crafting unique and exquisite dried hams. They designed it that way. Osteria Senz'Oste. What a GRAND concept.

NEW York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is facing fierce criticism from families of victims of 9/11, who accused him of laughing with Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez during the 25th anniversary ceremony.

The two Democratic-Socialists were captured on video apparently giggling and smiling while the names of the 9/11 victims were being read aloud during the somber memorial at Ground Zero on Friday.

Harris is returning to California’s campaign trail to support Democratic candidates in two closely watched congressional races. The appearances will mark her first announced midterm campaign stops in her home state and could offer an early look at her political strategy ahead of the 2028 presidential cycle.
Harris is scheduled to headline a September 26 fundraiser in San Diego for City Councilmember Marni von Wilpert, who is running in California’s redrawn 48th Congressional District. Von Wilpert will face Trump-endorsed Republican San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond for the seat being vacated by retiring Republican Rep. Darrell Issa.
Think about that for just a moment. You're a voter, and you'd consider voting for someone who thinks Kamaltoe has credibility. Ouch.
