Different times indeed...

O'Dowd's Dairy was a beloved family-run dairy farm, milk bar, and local landmark located on Route 46 in the Pine Brook section of Montville, New Jersey.  Established in December 1904 by Joseph O'Dowd, the family business grew to include a working dairy farm, home milk delivery in glass bottles, and a popular roadside dairy store.
Every morning when I was a kid I'd have to go out on the side porch and grab whatever our milk man had brought us that morning, whether it was just milk, or he'd also deliver eggs and butter. I can't remember when we finally gave up on delivery, but I remember like it was yesterday that old metal milk box on our porch...

It's sad to think that that editorial cartoon is actually aimed at High School seniors heading off to college. They know what a tranny is but can't count to twelve unless they're wearing flip flops.
There's a guy on YouTube who goes up to guys and gals in their late teens in Times Square and asks them basic stupid questions like how many states there are in our country, or even what is the Capital of the United States is, and they're all clueless. It's is genuinely scary what this country is gonna look like 50 or so years down the road...

The city council for Democrat-run Danbury, Connecticut, voted to allow non-citizen migrants to serve as city police officers. The vote was taken in retaliation after federal immigration forces had recently conducted raids in the town.
The city council members said that they voted to allow migrants to serve as cops to send a message to federal immigration officials. The vote was lopsided in favor of supporting illegals as only two of twenty council members voted against the measure.

Farrah Fawcett on a beach in SoCal back in the 1970s - in full cameltoe mode.
She became a global pop culture icon in the 1970s from playing the character Jill Munroe in the hit television series Charlie's Angels. Her famous feathered hairstyle and radiant smile defined the aesthetic of the era and were widely imitated. Did you know that her 1976 red swimsuit poster became the best-selling pin-up poster in history, selling millions of copies. Lotta horny teens I reckon...

America’s first all-vegan gas station sells for astonishing price. This first-of-its-kind Bay Area gas station has sold for a whopping $12 million - a lucrative number far higher than its owner and founder anticipated. Dubbed America’s first “plant-based mart”, Hangry Planet in San Bruno first opened in 2022, selling eggless breakfast sandwiches with Beyond Meat products, veggie burgers and vegan hot chocolate - which turned out to be a winning combo in the San Francisco-adjacent city.

The total annual costs of attendance - including tuition, housing, meals, and fees - have surpassed $100,000 at a growing number of elite U.S. colleges. High inflation, increased operational expenses, and campus investments have driven these sticker prices up significantly over recent years.  Many students do not pay the full sticker price due to institutional grants, merit scholarships, and financial aid, though the baseline costs continue to spark debate over return on investment.

This is the direct quote from the book 1984. There's a shitload of memes going around that say something to the effect that 'They couldn't make a change because they couldn't lift their eyes from their screens or some shit like that.

"I've never understood why people make shit up just to
make themselves look smart by posting it on the internet "

  1. One of the most beautiful things to grace beaches in the 70s … the 7.6ft mini mal surfboard, perfect compromise between the twitchy things of today and dreadnoughts of the 60s.
