Obama's still stiffin' 'em...

Subcontractors working on the Barack Obama Presidential Center in Chicago have raised widespread payment disputes and claims of millions in unpaid change orders following the project's opening. The prime construction manager, Lakeside Alliance, oversees the roughly 475 subcontractors, while the Obama Foundation states it has fully paid out the primary contractor on accelerated timelines.
Key Subcontractor Details & Disputes:
Adamson Plumbing: Suspended operations and laid off 25 union workers after citing an unresolved $4 million payment dispute for work on the center.
II in One Concrete: Part of the Concrete Collective joint venture, which filed a federal lawsuit involving structural engineering disputes and claims against project engineers
Thornton Tomasetti.Lakeside Alliance Partners: The primary joint venture managing the trades includes Turner Construction Co., Power and Sons Construction, UJAMAA Construction, Brown & Momen, Safeway Construction, and W.E. O'Neil Construction Co.

The Core Conflict:
Affected trade contractors report that communication and payouts for scope adjustments and change orders stalled out near the project's completion, leaving several minority- and smaller-owned firms struggling with financial deficits.

  1. It should become the "Tower od Chicago," holding all the folks responsible for 2020 including Covid while they await execution...much like the role the Tower of London once served.

    1. How many of those folks responsible for 2020/COVID has Patel caught and Bondi/Blanche indicted?

  2. Apparently those contractors didn't realize graft dollars start dispersing at the top and rarely trickle down.

  3. Only fools trust Obama. They took huge risks and lost. With USAID shut down they'll never collect their money.
