Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, made headlines Wednesday when he cursed out Dr. Anthony Fauci at a congressional hearing on the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic. He also made my 'coolest moment I've seen in the senate in a long time' list
Moreno said he decided to run for Congress during the pandemic, inspired by an incident in September 2020 in which an Ohio woman was arrested for refusing to wear a mask at a middle school football game, in violation of school policy at the time. He said the incident hardened his opposition to mask mandates and to Fauci, then the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who led the nation’s response to COVID-19.
“Here I am sitting in front of you six years later saying, who the fuck do you think you were for doing that?” Moreno said in the hearing. Moreno threw another F-bomb when asking Fauci why he brought a lawyer to the hearing. Fauci actuallu brought six lawyers with him. Do innocent people need six lawyers? Juss' sayin'...

Fauci has answered the committee’s questions before, but yesterday refused to do so, invoking his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.
“The sole reason he is calling me before this committee is to get me to say something, anything that could vindicate his repeated public pledges that I end up, in his words, ‘behind bars,’” Fauci said. “Any reasonable person who has followed his unhinged obsession with me would readily come to the same conclusion.”
