Why am I just finding out about this today?

NOW I get where the name came from...

  1. So the basketball floor didn't get scratched.

  2. Sock Hops were long gone by the 70's, at least where I was in the SF Bay Area. Looks like a lot of fun, nobody gets their toes crushed and because of the slippery basket ball floor everyone moved a bit slower. Barco Sin Vela II

  3. Couldn't have the kids' shoes marring the gym floor.

  4. I'm impressed with the number of two-tone bowling shoes. Okay, they probably aren't bowling shoes, but they certainly look like it.

    1. I think they were called "MaryJanes", popular with Bobbysoxers. But I'm not THAT old.

    2. The proper terminology is "Saddle Shoes"

  5. Their Saddle shoes and the boys wore white bucks which I don't see any of. It was death to walk on a gym floor with street shoes. I guess the schools have so much money now the can refinish the floor every year.

They're everywhere, yeah, but Maine? Yikes...

The amazing thing about this - at least to me - is the the Feds know exactly where to go to grab these scumbags. Makes ya think the Statie...
