I appreciate whenever any of you post comments, and I rarely - if ever - do not allow them to be posted on any given blog post...
That being said, more than a few of our readers have drawn a conclusion that I somehow support the killing of demonstrators in Minneapolis - or anywhere. I don't condone violence in any way, in fact the opposite is true. I abhor vilonce, in any form. In the cases where the two individuals died at the hands of these officers, it should not have happened and they are truly tragic.
The problem is not necessarily unique to Minnesota, but it does seem manifest there. These protestors attempting to block or harass these officers who are following their dictate to remove violent criminals from their midst are just plain wrong. Only a fool would try to stop an officer - any officer - from doing his or her job, and is always at fault. Always. No excuses. Would they try to prevent a cop from catching a bank robber or murderer? Of course not, so why is this different. The difference is, sadly, politics.
Minneapolis is a deep blue City in a deep blue state. We get it. But going up against armed Law Officers with whistles and horns and even fireworks is just plain stupid. These issues are resolved in the voting booth, not in the streets. Again - I abhor any violence of any kind. Don't read me wrong here. I will continue to post any comment that I think is thoughtfull and heartfelt. I treasure your opinions. I hope you understand that...

one thing I learned early in life was "don't fuck with the cops" and guess what, that has been a damn good rule to follow
ReplyDeletethese "people" are trying to start shit. there is no other way to see it really. and why would you object to them taking out the 'bad guys" anyway ? it not like they doing great things for us after all.
"These issues are resolved in the voting booth".
ReplyDeleteIndeed. If only those legally allowed to vote do the voting, and if the counting is done cleanly.
We are getting far away from both of those.
Would that be the voting booths with Dominion and Smartmatiic machines?
ReplyDeleteNone of those insurrectionists would be dead if they had not interfered with federal officers. I'm sorry they are dead, but Ashli Babbit was un-armed and murdered by democrats.
ReplyDeleteyeah, and by that logic she would still be alive if she hadn't trespassed that day.
DeleteYOu are showing double standards here.
Arrest them, yes, kill them (and get exonerated before they facts are even fully revealed) no.
I objected to the killing of Ashley Babbitt for the same reason I object to the two Minneapolis killings. all three were murders.....and in all three cases the cops have been exonerated.
If you objected to the Babbitt killings you should use the same metric for these killings. the only real difference is ideology
Ashli Babbitt wasn't threatening anyone's life. The two dead "protesters" were. That's the difference.
DeleteSorry, but all three killings are completely different. If I were forced to categorize them, I would say that the killing of Ashley Babbitt and the killing of Pretti are more alike than different because there appears to have been no component of self defense in either one. Both of those I would be more likely to categorize as possibly murder, given that I don’t know all the facts (and neither do any one of us if we’re being completely honest).
DeleteI would not describe the killing of Renee Good as a murder. She interfered with a law enforcement operation and was told multiple times to leave. When she chose not to leave she was told she was being arrested. At that point she attempted to flee and struck an officer with her car. Whether she meant to or was merely attempting to get away is irrelevant at that point. That officer was justified in shooting her in defense of his own life based upon the known facts.
It is unfortunate that any of them died.
Regardless of the deaths, I still support the mission of the law enforcement in this instance while condemning the actions of the people involved. That is to say, if an officer unjustly kills someone that doesn’t mean all law enforcement everywhere needs to stop. And just because someone who appears to have been completely innocent was killed doesn’t mean the “protesters” are therefore justified. It just means that officer needs to face justice and the law enforcement needs to take steps to prevent a repeat of that situation.
Very well stated. Im a fan....keep up the good work. ss

ReplyDeleteI grew up in Brooklyn in the 1960’s. If a cop told you to do something you did it or got a nightstick on the shin
And that is part of the problem right there. Pretti didn't get a stick on the shins, he got 10 bullets on his back. See the difference?

People are being PAID to stage THIS color revolution in the same way that Soros and others (including the CIA) have paid folks in foreign countries to risk their lives to achieve the overthrow of the existing government. It would be interesting to hear from 10,000 random Minnesotans from FAR AWAY from Minneapolis as to THEIR thoughts on what is going on. ALL we see are paid protestors from states far away from Minnesota, screaming about the federal government doing one of the FEW THINGS the Constitution actually DEMANDS that it do - protecting and defending our borders and nation from invaders. I would be a few ounces of silver that nearly NOBODY outside of Minneapolis wants ICE to stop, and most would likely welcome the arrest and removal of EVERYONE associated with Minneapolis government AND the Walz administration.
ReplyDeleteWe aren't voting our way out of this mess. The left intends to rule...and will stop at nothing to do so. If they must engage in violence to achieve that they will. And they have zero qualms about sacrificing lives to succeed. Lives from either side. Stopping them will require violence. A lot of it. Because it is the only language they will listen to or heed.
ReplyDeleteOne of my kids who has a raging case of Trump Derangement Syndrome accused me of being happy that Renee Good is dead simply because I’ve been on him to dial back the hate and dehumanizing of what he calls MAGGOTS. If I wont hate them I must love them and hate his people. I’m seeing more across the board- if you dont totally 100% agree with me you are an enemy, a subhuman. All this crap and its really cold here in Okeechobee, damn near froze taking the dog out at 10 tonight.
ReplyDeleteDefinite proof it's being organized. Pretti boy was a sacrificial goat. These people have no conscience.
ReplyDeleteRemember that when they beg for mercy.
“Stupidity cannot be cured with money, or through education, or by legislation. Stupidity is not a sin, the victim can't help being stupid. But stupidity is the only universal capital crime; the sentence is death, there is no appeal, and execution is carried out automatically and without pity.” —Robert A. Heinlein
ReplyDeleteThe two years olds on the floor in a store screaming have now grown up and are in the streets screaming!
ReplyDeleteI admit that I care that Goode was killed as much as I care the idiot taking pictures of the snow leopard was killed; and pretty much for the same reason. Some where between 7,000 and 9,000 Americans die each day. I would rather the people doing something asinely stupid die than someone just minding their own business.
ReplyDeleteWhat is happening is a "color revolution"...by the playbook, bullet point by bullet point. Communists have done exactly this in every country they took over. Now it's our turn. Expect the summer to be very, very violent.
ReplyDeleteMost of you should read the CONSTITUTION.
ReplyDeleteIf you tear the constitution because it is blocking your path to get to people you hate remember that once you tear it down it will not be there to protect YOU when people who hate you want to get to you.
Freedom of speech, Right to bear arms, Due process, State rights, Right to a fair trial, No cruel or unusual punishment, No unreasonable search and seizure. All rights enumerated in the Constitution that the GOVERNMENT is trampling on a daily basis
This will comeback to bite you in the ass.
The GOVERNMENT is already going after LEGAL gun owners. We always thought it would be democrats that come after our guns. Seems we were wrong!
THE TWIN CITIES ARE THE DEEP BLUE IDIOTS OF MN, THE SURROUNDING AREAS TEND TO HAVE SOME COMMON SENSE, BUT NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE TO OUT VOTE THE DAMNOCRATS.
