Swarthmore College is a private liberal arts college in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, United States. Founded in 1864, Swarthmore is one of the earliest coed colleges in the United States. It was established as a college under the Religious Society of Friends. It is considered one of the most prestigious, elitist school in the country.
Yesterday morning, the Swarthmore borough police department disbanded a four-day pro-Palestinian encampment on Swarthmore College’s campus and arrested nine activists. The demonstration calling on the college to divest from the tech company Cisco due to its ties to the Israeli government was a rare uprising in an academic year where higher-education institutions have been quick to quash them. One current and one former Swarthmore College student were among those arrested, while the rest were from outside the college community, the college’s president, Valerie Smith, said in a statement.
“With rising concerns about safety and security on campus, a continued and growing presence of individuals unaffiliated with the college, warnings from outside law enforcement agencies and no signs that protestors were willing to engage in conversation that would bring the encampment to an end,” Smith said, “I felt we had no choice but to seek outside assistance from local law enforcement.”
It's about friggin' time somebody somewhere at a major university grew a pair of balls and threw these dooshbag kids the fuck outta where they were squatting. Maybe some of the 'Ivy League' schools should follow their lead.

That's what they were born and raised for, and I am sure these 'protesters' would volunteer to be part of the 1200 people killed by Hamas monthly, if democrites got their way.
Having lived in the Philadelphia area for nearly 40 years, I can attest that most of the colleges and universities are painfully liberal bastions of ultra-liberal and highly spoiled little kids.
ReplyDeleteyup. worked at HUP for 2 years back in the early 1990's third shift ER. you wouldn't believe how many of the spoiled brats came in after doing something stupid. the U of Penn had the 4th largest police force in the state too.
Deleteafter all, they can not have the parents of Todd and Buffy know that the chance of their kids getting robbed or worse is close to 100% for the 4 years they are there. they, the schools in the area keep a very tight lid on the true crime stats. funny, but sad. after a while you stop caring about the spoiled brats.
but the average kid is school there is a payday for the Philly thugs. and the kids have no idea either.
I met my first "Palastian" in 1971 at my buddy next doors house. His older sister drug him home for the holidays. He was a 26 year old sophmore at Dook whose father had been murdered by the CIA, so he said. If that hadn't happened he'd be first in line for the throne of Suckdikistan, so he said. Funny, I've heard that same story at least five times since.

Swarthmore doesn't allow any student to leave school with a single dollar owed in student loan debt. I respect that.
