This does not happen very often, that's for sure...

What I mean is that you rarely, if ever, see a unanimous vote on anything in Washington. This bill was introduced in the Senate back in January 2025 by Senator Ted Cruz and a bipartisan group of co-sponsors which included Rosen and the Nevada senator Catherine Cortez Masto. No objections were made by Rosen’s request, resulting in the passage of the bill, which now goes to the House.
The bipartisan bill will create a tax deduction of up to $25,000 for cash tips reported to employers by workers for withholding purposes on payroll taxes, with a cap on the salary for eligible workers at $160,000 annually.
The House passed Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" Thursday, which includes proposed legislation to eliminate federal income tax on tips so this may be a moot point. We'll see...

More likely than not, you're going to go to Amazon to buy something anyway. By going there through my blog, I get credit for your visit. This is a great way for you to support what I do here, and you don't have to work on it, like I do putting this together.
Thanks so much for your support.
I really appreciate it.

  1. It is of course absolutely clear WHY democrites voted for this: because Lalala after Trump mentioned this immediately said "me too, me too, me too" adding this to her useless bag of tricks. It would be hard for the people that WILL vote for her again in 2028 to now say "Nope, no can do".

  2. This is just me, but why the can't they pass a bill that reads No Tax On Tips. Period. Far too simple for congressional morons, clearly Hence, the tax deduction of whatever on tips reported to whomever for employees earning under whatever annually nonsense! How 'bout this: No reporting. No tax deduction. No earnings limit. No bloating the IRS code page count. Just NO TAX ON TIPS. PERIOD. For F*ck's Sake.
