The best argument yet for a backyard pool...

This summer has a 50% chance of being hotter than average
in most of Florida - and that's Hot with a capital H...

Yes, a recent NOAA report indicates a 50% chance that this summer will be hotter than average in most of Florida. Specifically, the Climate Prediction Center is expecting temperatures to be above average across much of the state, especially in the Gulf Coast and southeastern regions, according to the News Journal. Nevada, Arizona and south Texas will get it even worse.
Naples, Florida is expected to experience hotter than usual temperatures over Memorial Day weekend, reaching 93 degrees with high humidity. Where I live in NoCen Florida, it's almost always four or five degrees warmer than it is on either coast.

I bought one of these last summer and I'm using it already out in the (screened-in) lanai. With the ceiling fan and this, it drops the temperature out there by at least 7 or 8 degress. No kidding. Hey they're cheap enough, and if it doesn't work for you, you know Amazon has a very liberal return policy. Juss' sayin'. Click on that screen cap for more info.

  2. Typical bullshit...
If there is a 50% chance of being hotter, that means a 50% chance of it being cooler.
FYI...it's coming on summer in the south. It's gonna be hot. Plan accordingly.

  3. Isn’t there always a 50% chance of being hotter or colder than the average? That’s what an average is. Am I thinking about this too much?

  4. Why do we need a climate prediction center? They can"t do anything about it or at least now that rfk jr has banned chemtrail poisons.

  5. If there is a 50% chance of it being hotter than normal that doesn't mean there is a 50% chance of it being cooler than normal. It means there is a 50% chance of it NOT being hotter than normal.
