The difference between DJT and most other politicians? He's not a politician...

People - well, some people - mostly the main stream media types, are freaking out because the Prez is doing exactly what the fuck he said he'd do if we put him back in charge. All the platitudes and bullshit promises that most other pols say they stand for usually fall by the wayside the minute they get in to office. What an incredibly engaging, encouraging change of pace his second term is gonna be. Let's sit back and enjoy the show...

Sen. Rand Paul encouraged Trump's Department of Government Efficiency to audit the country's gold reserve at Fort Knox. Elon Musk, who's in charge of DOGE, responded to an X user who said it "would be great if @elonmusk could take a look inside Fort Knox just to make sure the 4,580 tons of US gold is there. Last time anyone looked was 50 years ago in 1974."
The U.S. Mint says Fort Knox houses at least 147.3 million ounces — 9.2 million pounds — worth of gold, half of the Treasury's reserve gold. The vault's relevance is not what it used to be since the U.S. left the gold standard in 1971. The gold has become another Federal Reserve asset. It is unclear when the vaults last underwent a comprehensive audit.

  1. I wonder how many gold-plated lead bars there are at Fort Knox these days.

Why do I get the feeling Walz was not Comma-La's choice for Veep?

  3. Also no limit to the damage you can do if you think you can get away with it...
And on the subject of the Ft. Knox audit. I am posting this everywhere I can because folks seem to be missing the BIGGER ISSUES. There are MANY THINGS that need to be audited - Is anything there? What exactly is there (tungsten painted gold, etc.)? How pure is it? And MOST IMPORTANTLY....WHO OWNS IT??? Just because it is sitting in US vaults MEANS NOTHING. If I had bought it, I would happily let the US protect it. Can you think of a safer vault on earth (in theory)? Can you imagine the uproar if ALL of it got moved to its rightful owner at some point? An AUDIT BETTER INCLUDE ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS....or don't bother...

  4. The cathode ray tube makers? They went to the local junior college and learned to code..

That on-line culinary degree? You hang it on the wall next to your on-line brain surgeon degree!

The tax revenue chart? I'd like to see that with the borrowed tax money added in as it's all being spent anyway, but that way you could see what was really happening...

  5. That painting that looks like a photograph may be the NY City Office Building that is at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge in Manhattan. But it also has too many other buildings that are not in the area.

  6. The TV thing....usta have a TV plant where I worked, and many other people I know, in Happy Valley, PA. Corning Ashie Video. We made TVs up to 36 inch. I worked there a summer and then interviewed for a full time position but didn't take it to go work construction. Within 4 years I was in there with a construction company dismantling the entire factory and sending it to China. Yep, China bought it. They wouldn't pay electricians to go through and label every wire in the entire factory, so we would go up to a PLC box and cut off three or four 4 inch conduits with hundreds of tiny wires in them, pull it off the wall, and ship it. I cant imagine they ever got that factory running over there. Doesn't matter if they did. In about 3 years the future was LCD TVs and that was that.
