This report is from savejersey.com - Back in September 2024, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority Board of Commissioners awarded a $1.7 billion E-ZPass services contract to a company named TransCore. The significance: Allegedly, the company’s leadership has ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
Even stranger: the winning company’s bid ($1.73 billion) was reportedly $250 million higher than that of the American-owned company ($1.479 billion) which had operated E-ZPass for the prior two decades. The contract is raising alarms and concerns beyond New Jersey that China may be able to track Garden State commuters’ movements.
“This is a direct threat to both our national security and the privacy of millions of Americans,” Congressman Jeff Van Drew (R, NJ-02) told KYW Radio. “The CCP has repeatedly demonstrated its willingness to exploit foreign partnerships to advance its own strategic interests, often at the expense of U.S. security.”
Van Drew elaborated upon his concerns during a Fox News appearance - click on this screen cap to hear what he has to say about this boondoggle:
Did you see China had access to the U.S. Treasury Dept? The Dept an Obama judge won't let Musk investigate.
ReplyDeleteIn that case, Trump should send in the fucking Marines, then inform the judge that "Treasury works for me, not you."
DeleteI forget. Is NJ The Grifters or The Grafters?
ReplyDelete"Do the ChiComs have their hooks in the Garden State, or are they just idiots up there?"
ReplyDeleteYes.
The EZ-pass in Georgia is called Peach Pass. I had it for a while and I noticed it was auto-billing me a a high rate. I went on a 3 month business trip where my car was in storage. I was auto-billed twice to refill it while I was gone. I disputed the charges and got a sopena. I had my documents and went to court where the judge ordered I be refunded 80% of what I paid over the 16 months I had it.
