Celebrating the win Philly-style...

There's a good reason they used to have a jail and a courtroom
with a sitting judge in their old stadium...

Cops estimated some 10,000 Eagles fans were out on Broad Street and surrounding areas following the Super Bowl 59 win with some climbing light poles, trees, and sanitation trucks. City Hall was lit up with greens lights as the crowds gathered in front of it chanting for their team.
A crowd on 12th and Market streets ransacked a truck full of white towels outside a hotel and then set fire to them. Some fans lit a Chiefs jersey on fire and shouted "fuck Taylor Swift".
There's a reason the call Philly the 'City of Brotherly Love'. Or at least there usta be...

On September 3, 1977, the Grateful Dead played at Raceway Park in Englishtown.
Though the exact concert attendance is disputed, the band is confirmed to have sold over 102,000 tickets to their 1977 Englishtown Raceway Park show. This was the largest crowd the band had drawn at that point in their career, solidifying '77 as one of their most prominent years. Even with the massive audience, the attendees were peaceful and passionate about the music.
This concert came flashing back to me yesterday. I was there, and somewhere between the Pagan Pink Ripple and the 'reds' I passed out in the middle of one of their songs. Buddies finally revived me about 45 minutes later, and I came to realizing the band was still playing the same song. That is a pretty standard memory of a Dead concert...

Excuse me for asking - 'cause I may just be a fuckin' bumpkin or something - but what the fuck exactly is a 'violent medical episode'? That phrase almost doesn't make sense to me.
I mighta described it instead as 'some fuckin' whackjob went nuts and started beating the fuck outta some old lady'. Maybe that's why I wouldn'ta made a good doctor - or a reporter. Juss' sayin'...

Intermittent explosive disorder involves repeated, sudden bouts of impulsive, aggressive, violent behavior or angry verbal outbursts. The reactions are too extreme for the situation. Road rage, domestic abuse, throwing or breaking objects, or other temper tantrums may be symptoms of intermittent explosive disorder.
These explosive outbursts, which occur off and on, cause major distress. They can harm relationships and cause problems at work or school. They also can result in problems with the law.
Intermittent explosive disorder is a long-term condition that can go on for years. But the severity of outbursts may lessen with age. Treatment involves talk therapy and medicine to help you control your aggressive impulses.

Yeah - I'd pretty much give up my left nut to have one good Jersey hard roll with butter for breakfast. Just the one and snip - I'd be okay with that tradeoff. Juss' sayin'...

I spent many. many years as a graphic artist and advertising art director back in the 70's and in to the 80's. I'd give my other nut to have created a logo or a brand as recognizable and significant as the Marlboro icon that it could be juxtaposed in to a political editorial cartoon and still be as recognized as this. That is impressive...

  1. I'm not quite certain I'd give up my left one for a good poppy seed Kaiser roll - close but not quite there yet
in the early '70s there used to be a deli on the east side of Mad 'tween 53rd and 54th that made up a fried egg with 2 pieces of bacon on a such a roll for (wait for it) $.25 - that's right! one quarter of a dollar, made up fresh in front of your eyes 0500- how dare you accuse me of lusting for the Good Old Days

that town is sports stupid ! taxes go up, oh well. war starts up somewhere, so what? but if the stupid sports team wins or whatever? yeah. it like the greatest thing ever to them clowns ! you seen the type, they PAY 100 bucks for a shirt made in China with some ass clown name on it ? so, if you want to make bucks, sell a bunch of shirts with some clowns name on it ? it is unreal how they spend money on that crap. flags, shirts whatever as long as it has the "teams" name on it. take a 2 dollar shirt, slap some stupid team shit on it and sell it for 20 bucks.
most of them have little to no life as we know it. life has to be pretty sad if the only good thing in your life is the damn stupid team won . and don't even think about drinking in a bar during shit like this. drinks go up in price because they have the "game " on. I have always tried to stay as far away as I could from that dumb shit. just unreal .

Wow the Japan tsunami was 14 years ago!
I'm single so sex with a robot would be great as long as it was real and warm as possible. I've known some pretty cold and selfish women. Oh and bitchy.

  5. Phil Knight bought the Nike 'swoosh' image from a starving-artist college student for $50. As far as I know, he never tracked him down and paid a bonus when Nike succeeded and the 'swoosh' became an iconic image. Fucker.

  6. There was a bakery on Ridge road in Rutherford NJ that made an Everything hard roll with egg, sausage, and cheese that was a total mess to eat but you could not stop eating it because it was so good. Their cannolis were off the chain as well. The Spanish Steak house next door was also popular. I lived in Atlanta but had one or two trips to NJ a month for meetings in Nutley during the 90's and early 00's.
