Are your appliances spying on you? You bet yer ass they are.

Air fryers are now the third most-used appliance in kitchens after toasters and microwaves, and the gadgets have apparently been harvesting information through their phone apps...

You do realize that the words insidious and inscrutable have been sinonimous withh the oriental cultures for some time now, right? Well, now we learn that some of our appliances are telling the Chicoms what we're making for dinner. Why? Who the fuck knows outside of Peking, but there has to be something there. Ask yourself a serious question - why the fuck would you want to enter personal information in to a phone app that controls your cooking?
Two of the best selling applainces dig deep into your personal shit. The Xiaomi app linked to its air fryer connected to trackers from Facebook, Pangle (the ad network of TikTok for Business), and Chinese tech giant Tencent (depending on the location of the user). The Aigostar air fryer wanted to know gender and date of birth when setting up an owner account, again for no clear reason, but this was optional. The Aigostar and Xiaomi fryers both sent people’s personal data to servers in China - for 'marketing purposes'.

For the record, it's not just the air fryers. It's smart watches, TV's, even robot vacuums. The brands listed above may not all be available here in the States, but you get their drift...

Your wife, daughter or girlfriend would definitely
like to find these under her tree...

  1. Quite seriously, my electric toothbrush wants me to hook it up to a net app. Uh, NO!

  2. I have none of those appliances. No TV, fryer, smart phone, etc. But yeah, if people are stupid enough to continue buying all that crap, well then, sucks to be them. No sympathy. Why anyone buy all that shit and expect to NOT be spied on?

  3. Anybody dumb enough to allow (that is, fail to disable) ANY appliance internet connection deserves to be productized. Either refuse to buy, refuse to allow, or - if absolutely necessary - operate the damn thing inside a Faraday cage. There is ALWAYS an alternative. For example- Bosch dishwashers are all internet enabled...except one model. Why? Bosch knows damn well that they'll lose some sales otherwise. Etc.

  5. With regard to any of the idiots who voted for Kamala. I am sure that most of those 75 million idiots voted AGAINST Trump and not FOR Harris.
