Wuddya mean money doesn't grow on trees?

In an effort to prove once and forever that he has absoltuely no idea how shit works, Uncly Bernie wants to burn even more of your money. The bill he's come up with, introduced with Oregon senator Jeff Merkley and Michigan congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (so you know it's horseshit), would create a federal grant program to cancel all existing patient debt and amend the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to block creditors from collecting past medical bills.

The legislation would also update billing requirements for medical providers and alter the Consumer Credit Reporting Act to prevent credit agencies from reporting information related to unpaid medical bills, alleviating the risk of such debt damaging patients’ credit histories.

  1. Oh no. My wife went to the ER. Was there about 45 minutes.....well after the 2 1/2 hour wait for all the freeloaders to be seen. After insurance paid, my bills (about 7 difference ones came rolling in) to the tune of $2,000. She had a cold. Well at least someone there had to pay.

  2. I wonder how many hospitals, clinics, medical practices, doctors, nurses, and medical labs this will bankrupt? The law of unintended consequences can't be bypassed.

  3. Why not cancel all medical debt? It would be more fair than wht Slow Joe is doing by cancelling all the student debt.

  4. If this passes, would it be unkind of me to hope Bernie goes toes up because he needed a provider that he bankrupted?
