Do you remember the 'Good News Channel' on which they only reported on uplifting, happy subjects? Yeah - me neither...
and other media out there that try - somewhat desperately - to present a happy, good news view f the world. Shit - google that phrase 'Good News Channel' and hundreds of things'll show up.
My comment is specific to main stream news media. They're all doom-and-gloom bad news sellers, no matter what side of the fence they're on. That's why I don't watch the news. OR much TV at all for that matter.
I can bum myself out, thank you very much...

Police Station, Chicago, June 5, 1943. They had been arrested for
violating the cross-dressing ordinance.
This is the kinda stupid shit I'm talking about. Coupa flaws in it though. Did they only study on ocean and not all of 'em, 'cause I'da swore they were all kinda connected, aren't they?

John Fetterman called Rand Paul a “peckerhead” for forcing colleagues to grind through procedural votes Friday night and Super Bowl Sunday in order to pass a funding package for Ukraine and Israel.
Fetterman often sports a Pittsburgh Steelers beanie around the Senate.

What you're seeing here are seed-starters for tomato plants. I always start all my vegetables this way.
When I lived back in Jersey, I always had a great backyard garden. I had tomatoes out the kazoo - usualy at least three or four varieties, totally as many as 40-50 plants. By picking time in August, I'd have to bring five-gallon buckets ot there just to get them in to the house.
Since living here the past eight years I've learned one thing - it's really fuckin' hard, bordering on impossible - to grow tomatoes here in NoCenFl. There's a combination of factors that impact outdoor growing of tomatoes here. Tomatoes do most of their growing at night, when it should be 25-30 degrees cooler that the daytime. That doesn't happen here. Also, it rains every fuckin' day in the late afternoon/early evening here. Every day, from basically the end of May through October. Usually only 15 minutes - a half hour at most, but that's the problems. Tomatoes HATE rain. Ya NEVER water the plant - especially the leaves. Fucks 'em up big time.
Just thought yu guys should know that...
... These two dames did pretty good for themselves considering

Also, they always couch stories like this as if it's YOUR FAULT specifically because you buy plastic shit and drive a Chevy. Go hug a tree, pal - you can save the world. The original article is here if you're interested: Atlantic-ocean-circulation-nearing-tipping-point

I've thought this was the case for a while now. I've shopped in ALDI stores in five different countries (US, England, Italy,Ireland. No. Ireland) and I've found their product mix and pricing pretty much kick every one else's ass. There's is no stigma to shopping there - just make sense for us.
Where we live, we have an ALDI, a WalMart, a Winn-Dixie, a Publix, a Sam's Club and a BJ's withing two miles of our house. Welcome to stone-cold convenience...

On the "Occeans will rise" bit....
ReplyDeletePut a half a glass of water on the counter.
Add an ice cube or two.
Measure the level. Mark it with a sharpie or something
Come back after the ice cubes have meted.
Look at the level of the water.
Now tell me all about the seas rising due to increased global temperature as al that sea ice melts.
Did you miss the part of the article that says "... the system is being eroded by the faster-than-expected melt-off of Greenland’s glaciers and Arctic ice sheets ...". Floating sea ice has nothing to do with it. Okay? You're welcome.
DeleteYep. I gave up on gardening here in SWFL. Too much work for too little output.
