Start with a laugh and it's all downhill from there...

United Airlines is set to roll out a more efficient boarding process for its economy passengers later this month. It’s not quite the Steffen Method*, but it takes some inspiration from that complex theory of the best way to board a plane, with the new plan calling for those in window seats to get on first, followed by middle seat sitters and then those on the aisle.
If you've never heard of the Steffen Method,  here's an article that explains it in detail:

Sen. John Fetterman, that oh-so-dapper Lurch-looking fuckwad from Pennsyltucky called on his 'fellow senators' to expel New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez from congress Thursday after a new federal indictment alleged Menendez acted as a foreign agent.
Fetterman released a statement Thursday saying Menendez should not be a senator anymore and that he “should have been gone long ago.” The Pennsylvania senator said that the Senate could not have an “alleged foreign agent” among its members.
I swear to good the best comedy writers in Hollywood couldn't come up with better shit than that, could they?

The prices are almost incomprehensible relative to today.

How much money did the Vegas bookies
make when the Braves shit the bed?

Since 1995 when the first wild card games were added, 100-win teams failed to win their division series more than half the time. They've gone on to win the World Series just 12% of the time. Ten 100-win teams have lost their first-round series in the last three seasons. Maybe that's the beginning of an unsettling trend. But when all the results since 1995 are combined, the field looks less tilted. And when 100-win teams do win a divisional series, they are more likely to win the league championship series.
The Braves (and the cheating scumbag Astros) were +300 on average at most sportsbooks at the beginning of the playoffs.

I'm starting to believe there's something fucked up in the HVAC system in the Rolling Stone offices. In the latest issue, they've dared to present a 'definitive list' of the top 250 guitarists of all time. The list is ludicrous beyond comprehension. In the top ten there are a couple of legit contenders for the rank. Duanne Allman, Randy Rhodes, Hendrix (#1 of course) are all appropriate. Also in thetop ten are Sister Rosetta Sharpe (whoever the fuck she is) and number nine is Joni Mitchell. Joni fuckin' Mitchell - 9th greatest guitarist in histoy? GTFOH.
And to de-legitimize the list even more? Joe Bonamasso didn't make  top ten. Nor did Eric Clapton (remember him of the 'Clapton is God' rep back in the 60's?) make the top ten.

  2. #4: Is it bad that I know exactly where that intersection is? And I haven't lived in Florida for a coon's age?

  3. Looks good, sounds good. But the video of Cream playing Crossroads is not the actual audio. They are from two different sessions.

    1. For me, hearing Clapton play is worth the so-called "disappointment" that the audio does not match the show.

  4. Forget flying. The airlines forced their employees to take COVID vaccines so no one is safe with the pilots being under COVID vaccine side affects and possible death. Rich private jet owners are now getting unvaccinated pilots to fly them. Drive instead.

  5. You weren't told the desk would save you from an atomic bomb. You were told that in the case you didn't have time to get in the hallway, lean against the wall, and cover your head with your jacket, that ducking under your desk would be your best bet to not get eviscerated by the flying broken glass when the shock wave blew out all the classroom windows. That was all.

  6. I'm not a fan of lists, I don't even make my own lists. Yet Joni Mitchell was a superb guitarist who invented several or her own unique tunings of the instrument. So original were some of those tunings that as far back as twenty years ago Mitchell herself could not recall how to tune them, let alone to play her songs on them - and other top guitarists have not been able to figure out some of those tunings. Atop that, Mitchell's finger-picking was immaculate, flawless. So, in my opinion (I've played guitar since 1965, attained a workmanlike but not stellar level of skill), if a list of the 100, or 200, or however many greatest guitarists is made, Mitchell belongs at some position on those lists.

    1. Billy Gibbons once asked Prince how in the hell to play the opening guitar on When Doves Cry. Prince said he was only able to do it once, in the studio, and has never been able to replicate it.

Joni Mitchell is rated so highly only because David Geffen says she should be. A true fact.

    1. I recall sitting on Santa's knee as a little kid, maybe 60 years ago, and requesting the Tonka front end loader. Mum's head shake indicated "nope" to Santa who said, "We'll see." or suchlike. I recall I got fruit and some cheap stuff from Santa. Mum & Dad were not well off and money mattered but they were good, caring and moral people. I'd love to have them back, even for a moment, just to say once more how grateful I am for their love.
