This album wasn't just great - it's was ground-breaking. If you've never listened to early Miles - especially this record - you owe it to yourself to do it.
While best known as a member of what aficionados call “Miles Davis’ First Great Sextet,” performing on albums like “Sketches of Spain” and “In Person Friday and Saturday Nights at the Blackhawk,” Cobb and his Davis bandmates, bassist Paul Chambers and pianist Wynton Kelly, continued to play together until Chambers’ death in 1969, working with John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Wes Montgomery, Art Pepper and many others. It's not like there are not perks to living in New Jersey. Besides its close proximity to cities like Philadelphia and New York, there are about 130 miles of coastline bordering the state.
