A 50-year-old man in India who mistakenly thought he had contracted the coronavirus hung himself to protect his family, a news report said.
K. Bala Krishna was treated by doctors in Tirupati for a viral fever but was assured he did not have the deadly disease that has killed more than 1,350 worldwide, according to the Times of India.
Despite the doctors’ assurances, Krishna began watching videos on the virus on his mobile phone and became convinced that he had been infected, the newspaper said. He feared he would put his family in harm’s way.
“My father watched coronavirus-related videos the whole day on Monday and kept saying he had similar symptoms,” his son, Bala Murali, told the Times.

The New York wingnut, a staunch supporter of the more progressive single-payer healthcare system, made the revelation in an interview with HuffPost that was published Thursday.
The former bartender noted the difficulties as president of passing legislation, especially for a politically unpopular policy like Medicare for All. She said this as if she actually knew what she was talking about, and the reporter just kept on scribbling...
“A president can’t wave a magic wand and pass any legislation they want,” Ocasio-Cortez told the website. If Sanders becomes president in 2020, “The worst-case scenario?” she continued, “We compromise deeply and we end up getting a public option.”
She added: “Is that a nightmare? I don’t think so.”

A handful of protesters chided Joe Biden as he walked out of a Manhattan fundraiser on Thursday, urging the one-time Democratic frontrunner to drop out of the 2020 presidential race.
About half a dozen protesters from New York Communities for Change yelled at Biden as he was leaving the Wayfarer restaurant on West 57th Street near Sixth Avenue soon after 8 p.m.
“Drop out Joe! Drop out Joe!” they chanted as he walked to a waiting car. “Skip Nevada! Skip South Carolina! Go home early!” one of the demonstrators yelled.
“We’re here to mark the death of Joe Biden’s campaign. This is what happens when you stand up for policies that are regressive. We coined Wall Street Pete and now we’re doing the same to Joe,” Alice Nascimento of Communities for Change said.

'Massive' 20-foot-long great white shark off Florida coast
When it comes to 'fuck THAT' sharks are way up there on my list.
Tuesday, during a trip on Walker's Dive Charters out of Riviera Beach, Florida, a group of scuba divers encountered a once-in-a-lifetime experience – a great white shark. The encounter took place near a spot known as the Breakers Reef, a mile offshore of the Breakers Hotel on Palm Beach.
During the dive, a great white shark about 20 feet long slowly drifted by near the bottom, enabling divers to get photos and brief video. On average, female great white sharks measure 15-16 feet in length, and males grow to 11-13 feet, according to the Smithsonian.
There was pretty good visibility during the dive, so it was easy for divers to get photos and video without spooking the shark. The shark had no visible satellite tag affixed to its dorsal fin, so it was not tagged by OCEARCH, an organization that gathers ocean data.
