NJ woman gets only 6 years in prison for stabbing her identical twin sister to death

CAMDEN, N.J. — A New Jersey woman who fatally stabbed her identical twin during a drunken street fight is now headed to prison. Amanda Ramirez received a six-year sentence Thursday. The 27-year-old Camden resident had pleaded guilty in September to manslaughter.
Ramirez initially denied stabbing her sister, Anna, outside an apartment complex in Camden on June 22. She later admitted to the stabbing but claimed she had acted in self-defense after her sister got a knife and came at her.
Ramirez has said the stabbing occurred after a night of heavy drinking, adding that she can’t remember why she and her sister started fighting. The brawl ended when Ramirez stabbed her sister once in the chest.

That'll be the question on the minds of millions of people as day breaks in New York Thursday and officials decide whether the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons will be a part of annual procession through Manhattan.
It's rare to spend Thanksgiving without Snoopy flying over New York's skies. But a storm system bearing high winds could ground some of the giant character balloons. The balloons cannot be flown when sustained winds exceed 23 mph and gusts exceed 34 mph, according to city regulations.
"We got to say everything will be a game day decision tomorrow," New York Police Department Chief Terence Monahan said during a Wednesday news conference. "So we'll see what happens."

As MLB continues to dig into the Houston Astros’ alleged cheating scheme used for the 2017 regular season and potentially longer, there has been only one method reported for sure to be used by the team. That would be the infamous trash can, which was reportedly used in conjunction with a camera in center field of Minute Maid Park to relay catcher signals to the Astros’ batters through audible cues (banging on the trash can).
One of the biggest questions facing MLB now is how else might the Astros have skirted the rules over the last few years. Whistling? Signals from the team’s bullpen catcher? Thanks to the New York Yankees’ reported complaints during the 2019 ALCS, another method seems to have emerged as a possibility.

"Tad's Steaks" - I worked on Wall Street in the mid-60s. Once in a while we'd go to a local Tad's and get a good steak, baked potato, small salad, and a bread roll -- all for $1.69. Drinks were extra.
