Old Randy Andy will no longer be known as a prince and is to leave Royal Lodge, Buckingham Palace has confirmed. In a bombshell statement released tonight, Buckingham Palace said he will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor - with immediate effect (whatever that means). It comes as the palace said the 'censures are deemed necessary' amid the ongoing  Jeffrey Epstein scandal, who Andrew lied about cutting ties with. 
'His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,' the palace said. 'Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. 

 

His lease on Royal Lodge has provided him with legal protection to continue in residence, but that ship has sailed. 
"Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation". Time to pack your bags and find a comfy little flat you can swallow a barrel in. You know how it is, Andy - FAFO...

Do our Florida roads glow in the dark?

Phosphogypsum is a radioactive byproduct made after phosphate rock is turned into fertilizer. According to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, there are 27 phosphate mines in Florida, with nine currently active. Most are in the central Florida area near Polk and Hillsborough counties. Phosphate itself is safe as it can be used for fertilizer, food preservatives, and animal feed supplements. Earlier this month, the EPA approved a demonstration project that uses phosphogypsum as a road base. This project would happen in Polk County. Critics of the plan warn that Florida’s climate is affecting the safety of the communities surrounding the construction. According to the National Weather Service, when Hurricane Helene landed in Pinellas County and Tampa Bay, it brought a 15-foot surge and about six feet of water, respectively. Hurricane Milton brought tornadoes to Fort Pierce. According to climate research, these weather events are only getting stronger, and the damage they can cause can unearth the chemicals in the new roads. 

While the EPA has allowed the pilot project to proceed, it has also opened the floor for “public comment on [the project’s] pending approval” through Nov. 8.

NYPD officer handed light sentence...

A woman who screamed “Fuck these cops” after purposely running down a police officer and breaking his leg with her car got “not nearly enough” time in prison at her sentencing Wednesday, a cop union said. 

Sahara Dula, 25, was sentenced two years behind bars after she admitted to intentionally plowed over an NYPD cop while driving high into oncoming traffic on the Upper East Side in January 2024. “The sentence is not nearly enough. This individual tried to run down a New York City police officer. She could have killed him,” railed Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Hendry.

BARSTOW, Calif. (KABC) -- Millions of people who receive food assistance will go without benefits next month as the federal government remains shut down, and local leaders are now scrambling to contain the possible fallout.

The Barstow Police Department said in a post on Facebook that it will be stepping up patrols around grocery stores, convenience stores and shopping centers. 

Police added that the increased patrols are not in response to a specific incident but are a "preventive measure to maintain public safety, deter theft, and reassure the community that law enforcement is present and ready to help."

Elsewhere in Southern California, leaders are trying to provide impacted people with resources. About 1.5 million families in Los Angeles and more than 5 million people statewide receive benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly referred to as SNAP. That program is known as CalFresh in California. 

 

If the federal government shutdown continues, those benefits could run out tommorow. By tommorow afternoon, they'll be having food riots in LA.

A Bay Area activist was found guilty on Wednesday of breaking into a meat processing plant and stealing four chickens she said had been mistreated, in a trial that was being closely watched by animal rights groups and the agricultural industry.

A jury in Sonoma County, north of San Francisco, convicted Zoe Rosenberg, 23, of felony conspiracy, trespassing and other charges for a nighttime raid she conducted at Petaluma Poultry in 2023. Ms. Rosenberg, a student at the University of California, Berkeley, faces up to four and a half years in jail.

Maybe she should try her hand at opening a sidewalk drug market like the 500 they have in Frisco that nobody gives a fuck about. Be much safer - and probably a bit more remunerative than kidnapping chickens. My god - they have some seriously fucked up priorities out there...

Let's talk about one of my pet peeves for a minute here - how people who write headlines really should look for a different line of work. Case in point? This headline/header for an article I ran across on a website I won't mention. The picture looks good enough, although the food stylist should have had some gravy somewhere. Who the fuck eats meatloaf without gravy? Jeez. But I digress. 

The problem I have with this is the headline itself, or - more specifically - the description of the product. Maybe I shouldn't blame the editor/author, but somebody somewhere told them to call a meatless food product a meatloaf. Do you see the problem I have with that - or am I just way too pick-nitty about stupid shit like this?

Florida Man doesn't disappoint. Especially when there's two of them...

Two Florida men in Brevard County were arrested after they got caught driving a pickup truck with “stolen tag” written on a piece of cardboard serving as a license plate. Their arrests were in connection with multiple burglaries in Brevard County, according to sheriff officials.

The two men were identified as 31-year-old Anthony Sosa and 36-year-old Chad Doulette. Both men were taken into custody and face multiple charges of grand theft and burglary.

The pickup truck was first spottedin the area near several houses on Tropical Trail in Merritt Island where multiple burglaries were occurring. While multiple houses on the block were being raided, these burglars stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and a handgun.

One of the residents on the street said his scenic street isn't known for crime, but considering the houses on the block are all worth millions, he can see why they were targeted. “The affluence of the area would make it enticing, but it’s just the one road in and out,” Skwarvk said. “It’s too easy to get caught.”

One of the residents who spotted the truck told police that the pickup had a piece of cardboard that read “stolen tag” attached to where the license plate should be. Police later spotted the truck and pulled it over on Pineda Causeway in Melbourne. Police searched the vehicle and found the stolen jewelry and handgun.
