Spaceman Spiff is going down!!!

Asking actors questions about politics is just a waste of oxygen. Why do they bother?

'Breaking Bad' actor Bryan Cranston says he believes the phrase 'Make America Great Again,' used by former President Donald Trump and his followers is racist. The actor, currently promoting the upcoming season of his show 'Your Honor' sat down with CNN on Sunday and explained his justification. 'When I see the 'Make America Great Again,' my comment is: do you accept that that could possibly be construed as a racist remark,' the actor said. Cranston told CNN anchor Chris Wallace he believes those who use the phrase are unaware that there was never a time when America was great for African Americans.

Here he is talking to Chris Wallace because I guess he is the new spokesperson for black Americans. Jeezis friggin' Christ:

What's not to love about the NewYork Post?

This must be a really fun place to work.

Why did it take so long long to tell us something we already knew?

The COVID-19 virus most likely leaked from a laboratory in Wuhan, according to a government Department over which Dr. FlipFlop held no sway - the US Energy Department. In a report seen by the Wall Street Journal, the US agency said the virus was not being engineered as part of a weapons program. The illustrious Doctor is famous for saying that the lab leak theory was 'a shiny object that will go away.'
That is somehow comforting to know - they weren't planning on weaponizing it, they were just fucking with to see what might happen. We all feel so much better knowing that. Feel better now?

Yeah - he's a famous rocker.
A rocking chair rocker maybe...

Is it Woody Allen? Is it Martin Scorsese? No, it's Bruce Springsteen. A photo of the veteran US rocker, 72, has gone viral on social media. The Born in the USA singer could be seen posing for a selfie with a female fan in the photo, in which he could be seen cutting a rather different figure in a sweater and glasses.
The photo was reportedly taken last month in Brussels, Belgium, where "The Boss" is visiting his 30-year-old Olympian daughter, Jessica Springsteen, who is participating in a showjumping competition.
FYI - 'showjumping' is a sport only engaged in by super-rich elitist snobs. Juss' sayin' - meetcha at the Polo Field old chum...
He sure as fuck ain't the ole' rocker that I knew back in the 70's, that's for sure.

Yeah - that's me on the right. Long fuckin' time ago.

This is truly wondrous. The basic element of all life finally captured in way that's identifiable! This remarkable photo of a SINGLE ATOM (trapped by electric fields) has just been awarded the top prize in a well-known science photography competition. The photo is titled “Single Atom in an Ion Trap” and was shot by David Nadlinger at the University of Oxford in England. (For the record it's a single positively-charged strontium atom)

Last week he said he would walk at the end of this year, choosing to opt-out of his option year in his current contract. Shockingly, yesterday the team announced they have signed him to an 11-year, $ 350,000,000.00 contract that will keep him in Southern California for the rest of his career. Well played, Manny.

Trump the peacemaker? Don't bet the ranch on it - wait and see...

RNC chair Ronna McDaniel says she thinks ex-president WILL sign pledge backing Ron DeSantis if he wins GOP's 2024 nomination...

Sorry there's no sound, but you get the drift here. Ronna McDaniel assured that Donald Trump will agree to sign a pledge supporting whichever candidate wins the 2024 GOP primary election in their race for the White House. She made the comment while also demanding that her party turn its focus onto beating President Joe Biden and the Democrats rather than in-house fighting other members of the Republican Party. 'I think they're all going to sign it,' Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman McDaniel told CNN's State of the Union host Dana Bash on Sunday morning when asked if Trump would sign an eventual pledge.

'America's Game' is changing. Is it for the better? We'll have to wait and see...

Cal Conley of the Atlanta Braves thought he had just won the game with a two-out, bases-loaded walk-off walk on Saturday. He took a few steps toward first base, bat still in hand, when umpire John Libka jumped out from behind the plate and indicated strike three.
Game over. Conley couldn't believe it. Neither could his teammates. Fans booed. Welcome to 2023, where baseball's new rules designed to improve pace of play are coming fast at everyone, particularly the players.

There's an easy answer - people don't know how to save anymore...

Something unexpected is going on in the U.S. economy. Inflation remains high, yet many Americans went on a spending spree last month, eating out at restaurants and shopping for cars. In ordinary times, that additional spending would be welcome news to an economy that's heavily dependent on consumer dollars.
But there's a catch: All that spending threatens to put more upward pressure on inflation at a time when the Federal Reserve is raising interest rates aggressively to keep prices in check. Inflation eased again in January – but there's a cautionary sign. That makes it critical to gauge how long that consumer spending can last.

I call it 'compensatory spending', although the credit really goes to my father who kinda came up with the concept.
If you ever find yourself saying something akin to 'My life sucks. Fuck it - I'm need a new skateboard' or anything remotely close to that, you get the idea...

What part of when I said 'Thanks, but no thanks'

This is pretty much the scene all up and down the west coast this week. I can't tell you how much I have hated snow almost my entire life. I imagine our buddy Woodsterman (https://woodstermangotwood.blogspot.com/) hasta be used to it 'cause it looks like it snows 8 months a year up there in No. California where he is...

Nearly 50 years later (Oh, god - even thinking that makes me feel ancient) I was lucky enough to have been at this show at the Academy of Music in NYC. It didn't start until nearly midnight and we were so fuckin' high by then it almost didn't matter, but to this day this remains one of the absolute highlights (pun intended) of my concert-going career.
I still listen to this album on a regular basis - I have the CD in my truck also. It's just great music. Click on the album cover to listen to it for yourself on YouTube...

On Friday people in the city marvelled at the unfamiliar sight of a snow flurry around the Hollywood sign on Mount Lee. But elsewhere in Los Angeles, flooding trapped cars in North Hollywood, and officials warned of widespread flooding in neighbourhoods throughout the surrounding county.

It just doesn't pay - and may seriously hurt you in the wallet - to speak your mind in this country. Dilbert - a hugely popular cartoon has been scrapped from hundreds of papers after Scott Adams calls Black people a ‘hate group’ on his YouTube show.
Adams called Black Americans a “hate group” and suggested white Americans “get the hell away from Black people” in response to a conservative organization’s poll purporting to show that many African Americans do not agree with the statement: “It’s OK to be white.”
The Anti-Defamation League says the phrase was popularised in 2017 as a trolling campaign by members of the discussion forum 4chan and was then used by some white supremacists. “If nearly half of all Blacks are not OK with white people ... that’s a hate group,” said Adams, who is white, on his YouTube channel on Wednesday. “And I don’t want to have anything to do with them.”
For the record, I don't agree or disagree with the guy. If he wants say stupid shit like that out loud, it's his problem. Juss' sayin'...

This kid's got a lot of balls. Good for her...

Little more than a week before the big state tournament in Nebraska, three members of the Morrill High School cheer squad quit-but that didn’t stop the last remaining member, Katrina Kohel, from competing. “I want to go to state, and I will cheer by myself,” the senior told her coach, according to Omaha World-Herald. It was the first time anyone had competed solo, and spectators from other teams even applauded for Kohel. She finished eighth out of 12 teams in her division- which was better than her school had done competing at full strength in the previous two years.
