A Dean before we leave for the night...

Enjoy 'em while I have 'em.

He wasn't as prolific as Doug Sneyd...

You daily Doug...

A second helping of BALLARD STREET...

These may be an acquired taste,

Sunday. Bloody Sunday...

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the day when British troops shot and killed 14 innocent Irish men and boys in Londonderry, Northern Ireland...

Bloody Sunday was a turning point in three decades of violence in Northern Ireland known as the Troubles, which cost the lives of more than 3,500 people. The conflict was between Northern Ireland’s Catholic nationalists, who want a united Ireland, and Protestant unionists loyal to Britain.

Sunday Bloody Sunday - Live From
Red Rocks Amphitheater, Colorado, 1983
...

It was supposed to be a peaceful protest against the
British Government's internment of prisoners in NI
without charges. It turned in to nation-changing fiasco
and re-ignited'The Troubles'
...

They made a fairly abysmal movie back
in '71 about it and tried to make it
a love story, for fuck sake...
...

...

...

In the end, British soldiers were tried and convicted of murder because of the events of that day. Londonderry - or Derry as the refer to it - is still a stronghold of IRA factions and there is still active, anti-British sentiment in the area.

Your Sunday morning comics courtesy of Jerry Van Amerongen

BALLARD STREET was one of my favorite comics because the artist depicted things - and people - so far outside the box they were fascinating. Enjoy...

Not only is it a perfect fit for my sense of humor, it kinda
defines the way I look at life - slightly askew.

It's a shame cops have to protect someone like her...

This thoughtless, insensitive brain-dead piece of shit
actually had the balls to upload this to Tik-Tok...

There's a special corner of hell
for heartless scumbags like her.

New York City 'actress' Jacqueline Guzman was fired from her theater company after ranting in a now-deleted TikTok video she made about 'shutting down most of Lower Manhattan' for 22-year-old NYPD Officer Jason Rivera's funeral on Friday.
'We do not need to shut down most of Lower Manhattan because one cop died for probably doing his job incorrectly,' she said. 'They kill people who are under 22 every single day for no good reason and we don't shut down the city for them.'

Thousands of officers flooded the streets of New York to honor the fallen officer, blocking the streets Guzman needed to go down. Despite deleting the video, she was met with swift backlash and distain, and was released from her theater company for her 'insensitive' comment regarding Jason Rivera's death.

Rivera, 22, was killed while responding to a domestic call in East Harlem.

Worry about nonsense or don't - It's all up to you.

It's amazing the things - and the people - that the news media thinks we give a shit about.

It's more amazing how little of what they
report on we actually do care about...

Why are they giving names to winter storms - that makes no sense at all. And who came up with the term 'Bomb cyclone' for storms? That is really friggin' stupid, don'tcha think? Juss' sayin...
...

This guy is unquestionably the greatest of all times at what he does. I don't of any honor a man - or a woman - could ever get that would be higher than that.
For the record, he single-handedly saved the Tampa Bay franchise just by signing on. The year before he got there, attendance was so bad they were actually literally giving away tickets to games just to get asses in the seats when they were on TV.
Now that's he's leaving, it's safe to assume things will go back to dismally normal in Tampa.

I had a dream last night that one of these was
parked in front of my house. I guess,
actually, it was more of a nightmare...

A look at Wrigley Field and the old outfield wall during Game 3
of the 1932 World Series between the Cubs and the Yankees.
Babe Ruth is rounding 2B after taking Cubs pitcher Charlie Root deep to RCF in the 1st with 2 on and nobody out. Ruth would come up later in the 5th for his "Called Shot" solo home run. LouGehrig, who can be seen walking to the plate, would also homer 2 times off of Root.

Parts of Nantucket were underwater on Saturday as a winter storm lashed the region. Winds gusted as high as 70mph on Nantucket and over 60mph elsewhere in eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
More than 4,500 flights were cancelled across the US, while Amtrak cancelled all of its high-speed Acela trains between Boston and Washington. More than 89,000 customers remained in the dark in Massachusetts.
The worst of the storm was expected to blow over by Sunday morning into Canada, where several provinces are now under warnings.

My point here is simple. What you glean from the news is always - and more likely only - because of where you choose to get your 'news' from.
In this case this item was on the US online edition of a liberal UK news outfit. A VERY liberal news source, so of course they'd be slanting the story that way. If this was the only source you had for news, you'd think the rally was only about the stolen election.
Perspective's a bitch, ain't it? Juss' sayin'...
...

Okay, so we're back to these two jugheads again.

Spotify's stock went down six percent in the wake
of this Neil young/ Joe Rogan thing.
Big shit. The simple truth is, if you own this stock, you're a fuckin' moron. The company has never made a penny, and probably never will.
Their stock has been as high as almost $ 365.00 a share for no reason at all. They don't pay a dividend, they loss money year after year, and buying stocks like this one is just betting on whether or not other idiots like yourself will drive the price up by following you down the dummy trail.
This is pure and simple speculation and by any definition.
It's not investing at all- it's gambling.
