Two pilots were on board the aircraft when they experienced a mechanical issue and made a desperate attempt at an emergency landing on Bayshore road in Fort Myers on Saturday, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Cellphone video from the road shows the plane’s wings clip the rear of a pickup truck driving in the same direction as the plane after its wheels touched down on the asphalt at a high rate of speed.
The plane then continues rolling down the road, which was packed with traffic, the clip shows. Miraculously, nobody was hurt. The plane had taken off from Sebring, Fla. around 11 a.m. Sunday before it made the emergency landing about 50 minutes later, according to flight tracking data.
