Boxing giant Mourad Aliev was at the centre of more shock scenes after beating Camkiran by unanimous decision and the final bell was rung in Istanbul. The 2019 European Games silver medallist appeared to make a gesture towards the crowd as he paraded around the Ulker Sports Arena.
And, after seemingly going in for a hug, Umut Camkiran hit out and a mass brawl quickly erupted. Teams from both sides, along with officials and security, piled into the boxing ring as the chaos unfolded. Aliev took several punches, including to the back of the head, before he had a chance to escape. People were sensationally spotted chasing each other while objects were tossed into the ring during the unsavoury scenes.
Camkiran suffered the first defeat of his professional career after missing out on the WBC Silver Heavyweight belt. The Turkish fighter, 37, was docked a point for a late punch in round five of the showdown with Aliev.
