The stupid shit that politicians worry about is mind-numbing, with all of the other problems they have, one US city is cracking down on mouse traps – and residents who use a certain kind will be hit with $500 fines. Ann Arbor, Michigan is ending the use of mouse glue traps because they cause a slow and painful death for animals.

The city council unanimously approved a ban on selling or using glue traps for mice and other animals. “Glue traps are inhumane and they are a cruel practice that has no place in our society,” Mayor Christopher Taylor said. The council also noted how glue traps can increase the transmission of diseases from mice to humans. The ordinance goes into effect in 60 days.
