No Kings, the coalition known for organizing anti-Trump protests, is trying a different tactic: increasing voter turnout. This afternoon, 'grassroot' groups across the country will hold over 3,000 "No Kings: Vote Early" marches and other events. Organizers say these events are a nonpartisan effort (yeah - I'm sure a lot of conservative voters will be out No-Kinging) to promote early voting in the midterm elections, and will involve helping people check their voter registration, make a plan to cast their ballot and understand their voting rights.
The voting push effort marks a pivot for the No Kings coalition. No Kings has previously held three days of nationwide protests since the start of Trump's second term because organizers say Trump's actions in office are more akin to those of a monarch than a democratically elected head of state. Trump has they're full of shit and need to get a life (paraphrased, of course).
"The first three No Kings were designed to send a message," says Ezra Levin, the co-founder of Indivisible - one of the major organizations within the No Kings network. "We're done sending a message." Now, he says, they want people to vote.

Okay - we know Clay Bennett's work and how good it is graphically, but, being the liberal he is, he tends at times to be a bit more obtuse than he needs to be. At least that's the way I see. Take this one for instance. I'm confident is has something anti-gun going for it, but I swear I have no idea about the point he's trying to get across. Any ideas out there? Any of you guys get this one? Beuhler? Beuhler?

Katie Zacharia is out as White House press secretary just five days into the job, a remarkably swift departure from the high-profile position that came after a rocky first briefing and criticism that she misrepresented herself as a lawyer.
Five sources familiar with the decision confirmed her ouster, including three senior White House officials, who told USA TODAY that Zacharia is "transitioning out" of the job. Her exit came shortly after President Donald Trump told reporters the job of press secretary might not be for her and had asked her to consider stepping down.

Amazon is warning that thousands of New York City jobs could be moved out of the city if a controversial labor bill backed by Mayor Zohran Mamdani becomes law. The dispute puts the city’s worker-protection agenda on a collision course with one of America’s largest employers.
Amazon says the proposed legislation could force the company to dramatically reduce its workforce in the city. The warning raises serious questions about how new employment regulations could affect the very workers they are intended to protect.
Mamdani has championed stronger protections for workers, while Amazon argues that the proposed requirements could make its New York City operations more difficult and expensive to maintain. The company’s warning has turned the legislation into a debate over job security, business costs and government regulation.
For thousands of Amazon employees, the stakes could be enormous. The company is raising the possibility of significant job losses, while supporters of the legislation argue that stronger workplace protections are necessary. Amazon’s threatened relocation of thousands of jobs remains conditional on the legislation passing, but the warning has already brought the potential economic consequences into focus.
