Figures such as former White House officials and various lawmakers (reported by outlets like Fox News and The National Desk) frequently criticized the administration in 2021 for implementing broad vaccine mandates for U.S. workers, federal employees, and healthcare workers (numbering roughly 17 million in the healthcare sector alone) while migrants crossing the southern border were not initially subject to a universal vaccine mandate.
While unauthorized border crossings did increase significantly, federal policy evolved over time. Early in the pandemic, few migrants were expelled under Title 42 public health orders rather than being released into the interior.
By spring 2022, the Biden administration began offering and administering COVID-19 vaccines to migrants in Customs and Border Protection (CBP) custody who were processed under regular immigration procedures. Furthermore, legal permanent residency (green card) applicants have been required by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to show proof of specific vaccinations.
None the less, the Biden Administration let nearly 20 million un-vetted foreigners in to this country, and, as of late, diseases we thought we had corralled are appearing in scary numbers.
