If this whole thing isn't a money-laundering fuckin' scam, nothing is. Fox News reported that the Obama Foundation’s 2025 tax filing listed 172 employees earning more than $100,000 - about half of its reported 342-person workforce for that filing year.
Foundation CEO Valerie Jarrett received roughly $771,000 in total compensation. Her pay increased from the prior year and that several other top-paid officials with past Obama White House or campaign ties also received six-figure compensation.
An Ohio State University accounting professor who studies nonprofit finances told Fox News that the share of staff earning six figures was higher than at a typical nonprofit.
The Foundation said it employs more than 500 people worldwide, with roughly 300 based at the Obama Presidential Center, and that its pay is competitive with the market. Its 2025 payroll and benefits costs were reported at $50.4 million, while revenue totaled about $159 million, largely from contributions and grants.
Workers organizing through Obama Workers United and AFSCME Council 31 include visitor-services, cleaning, museum, technology, education and global-program staff. In a public letter, they alleged that benefits had been rolled back and workloads had increased. The Foundation said it supports employees’ right to organize and intends to approach the process "collaboratively".
