Isaias has intensified, with winds reaching 120mph just hours before it is expected to slam into the US tonight. The storm in the Atlantic will make landfall in the Gulf Coast on Friday night, with millions of Americans bracing for life-threatening conditions over the weekend, including heavy rainfall and flooding.
Isaias has become a Category 3 hurricane, and the National Hurricane Center is warning it’s “on the cusp of major hurricane status.” “Isaias is likely to become a major hurricane this morning and remain a dangerous hurricane at landfall this evening or tonight,” forecasters said Friday.
The storm is about 240 miles south of Pensacola, Florida, and is moving northeast at 15mph, The Weather Channel said this afternoon. When the storm, which is the first of its kind in the Atlantic this season, makes landfall Friday night, it will hit the northern Gulf Coast from Mississippi to Alabama to the western part of the Florida Panhandle.
I've been through twenty or more storms this strong or worse.
Take care, guys...
