Trump’s campaign rally in San Antonio, Texas, took an unexpected turn Wednesday night when a heckler interrupted his speech and a man wearing a MAGA hat decided to take him out. Trump was campaigning for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. A heckler was shouting and recording himself as he moved through the crowd toward the exit. That’s when another attendee wearing a red MAGA hat rushed toward the heckler, grabbed him from behind and pulled him down by his hair.
Trump paused his speech as the commotion unfolded, then turned the interruption into a moment of humor. “Let me ask you a question - is there anything like a Trump rally? Is there anything like it? I don’t think so. He’s going back home to mom right now,” the president added.
At least six separate interruptions were reported during the evening, with law-enforcement officers and security personnel removing protesters. Between the repeated interruptions, the scuffle in the audience and the president’s running commentary, his question about whether there’s anything quite like a Trump rally became the defining line of the night.
