Is it really the mid-term doldrums?

Donald Trump's approval ratings have dropped into territory that historically signals trouble for the president's party in midterm elections. With voters set to decide control of Congress in 2026, Republican strategists face the familiar pattern of the president's unpopularity becoming a drag on down-ballot races. The stakes are high because control of the House and Senate determines the ability to advance or block legislation for the remainder of the term.
The broader context involves a Republican Party that remains closely aligned with Trump despite repeated polling warnings. Past midterms have shown that when a president's approval sits below 45 percent, the opposition party typically gains seats.
The cartoon makes the case that Trump's low standing is not merely a background factor but the central force pulling Republican prospects off course. That cartoon more than suggests continued loyalty to Trump carries direct electoral costs that candidates will pay in November 2026. Another 'wait-and-seeminute. The polls have Dems kickin' ass and takin' names. We shall see...

  3. All the usual suspects trying their damndest to make him look even worse. Gas should be coming down due to oil flowing but it sure isn't.
I guess it doesn't matter. Neither side will cut spending and do what needs to be done. The trip to hell might slow down with the right running things but it won't stop. The urban leftists will probably riot and destroy shit no matter what side prevails. Maybe this time they will actually take it to the 'burbs and riot there. That will be entertaining, no?

  4. The left hates him, people on the right are segregated between people who support him regardless and people who say their disappointed, but no way do they vote blue. Popularity polls are more worthless than election polls. We'll see in about two weeks.
