According to a nationwide survey of 3,000 Americans across 50 states, Americans ranked their biggest fears as follows:
- Death
- Heights
- Snakes
- Public speaking and enclosed spaces
- Failure and spiders
Death was the number one fear in America, with Americans in 17 out of 50 states choosing it as their primary phobia, including Washington, Arizona, Kansas, South Dakota, Minnesota, Tennessee, Ohio, Mississippi, Connecticut, Florida, New York, Texas, California, Delaware, Nevada, Colorado and New Hampshire, according to the survey.
Americans in seven states and the District of Columbia ranked heights as their biggest fear, while snakes took third place as people in six states, including Mississippi and West Virginia, chose that as their biggest phobia.
When respondents were asked if they were willing to face their fear for 24 hours for $1,000, 33% of respondents said they would do it only if their safety was guaranteed, 27% declined and 24% were willing to do it for the money

How old were they? When you've reached a certain age death is seen as a blessing. Especially when the government has imposed their will on you with taxes, regulations, inflation, spying.... When they refuse to prosecute pols just because they're pols what hope is there that it will ever get better? When they spend like addicts on everyone but citizens while making everything out of reach what hope is there. They destroyed all the joy retirement was supposed to bring. Even death will cost you plenty on the way out. Even this post is being recorded somewhere. Fuck'em all I can't wait to leave.
ReplyDelete'democrats' should be at the top!
ReplyDeleteI'm not afraid of death; I'm afraid of dying.
ReplyDeleteNot the same thing...
But the next three pretty much line up with my list too.
Many people are amazed that speaking in public is only slightly behind death.
And the fear of death and its EXPLOITATION, defines the foundation of EVERY GOVERNMENT and far too many religions.
ReplyDeleteI think the old man earned $1000 a month in a charming place called Vietnam in 1967.
