Are people not voting out of disgust?

Municipal elections scheduled for early November continue to register historically low voter turnout in communities across the country. Races for mayor, council, trustee and ward positions determine critical local policies on property taxes, zoning, transit and public safety, yet participation frequently dips below 30 percent. The outcome affects every resident through decisions made by officials who control budgets and bylaws with immediate impact.
Municipal contests routinely draw far less attention than national or provincial campaigns. Media coverage remains limited - if not non-existent, candidates often lack name recognition, and voters cite confusion over multiple overlapping local races. The result is a cycle where low turnout reduces perceived legitimacy of winners while discouraging future engagement from both candidates and the public.
I went and did the early-voting thing yesterday morning, and you'd never know there was a lack of interest in my town, although there was only one local amendment to be voted on. Mostly it was Governor, Senator and constitutional amendments on the ballot.

After a point, we all get sick and tired of this endless bullshit from these fringe wackjob groups. Now, Chick-fil-A is facing renewed backlash from LGBTQ publications after CEO Andrew Cathy declined to give a direct answer about LGBTQ rights during an October 14 interview on NBC’s Today show. Out Magazine (seriously?) columnist Josh Ackley urged readers to stop eating at Chick-fil-A, even publishing an article titled, “Don’t eat at Chick-fil-A. And don’t sleep with anyone who does.”
LGBTQ Nation ( a bullshit frringe website nobody ever heard of) also criticized Cathy for refusing to give a direct answer. During the interview, Cathy emphasized that Chick-fil-A focuses on serving great food and welcoming all customers.
“Everybody that’s willing to walk in the door, they’re welcome to come eat with us. We would love to give them a great-tasting sandwich and great hospitality,” Cathy said.
The Christian-founded restaurant chain has faced LGBTQ boycotts before, largely because of its past support for traditional marriage and donations to Christian organizations. Out Magazine’s latest call to avoid Chick-fil-A comes despite the CEO’s public statement that everyone is welcome to eat at its restaurants.
Evidently, a blanket 'welcome' that involves every living person on the planet Earth is not enough for these liberal sociopaths. They want their welcome carved in pink soapstone and delivered via Fairy Express to their bedsides, tucked in a fucia ribboned velvet package. Fuck 'em all. The food there is too good for them anyway. Juss' sayin'...

Don't you find it a bit humorous that these people, dressed as they are , hoisting ludicrous signs and chanting nonsensical verse, all want to be taken seriously?
I mean, seriously, who gives a fuck what they think, anyway? Look at the one guy holding the 'Deport Trump' sign. Now there's a guy you want to take political advice from, isn't he? Jeez friggin' Louise already. Enough, people - go home and watch your soaps ferfucksakes...

Every one of these loonie lefties would be found to be as duplicitous as this one portrayed in the panels. That is, of course, if anyone gave enough of a fuck to bother to explore their lives beyond whatever momentary vision they choose to protray for whatever bizarre, bullshit cause their fighting for - or against.

Donald Trump refused to say whether he would endorse JD Vance in 2028 in an awkward exchange in front of the media. Trump praised the vice president as a very talented person but said it was too early to think ahead to the 2028 presidential election. Trump shook his head when presented with the question, telling the media gathered in the Oval Office on Tuesday, “Well, I’ll tell you this. He’s a very talented person, and he’s a very good person, but we’ve literally, I don’t think we’ve ever talked about it.”

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) on Wednesday called allegations that she married her brother “insane” – but didn’t entirely close the door to the possibility of being related to her ex-husband.

“Not to my knowledge,” Omar responded, when asked by MS NOW’s Chris Hayes if there was any “weird kernel of truth” to the claim that she wed her brother.

That gray Spanish moss hanging from Florida's oaks used to be money. Real money, by the trainload. Old photographs from Central Florida show a whole industry most people have never heard of. Pickers pulled moss from the trees with rakes and long hooked poles, and a strong worker could gather close to half a ton in a day. Fresh moss sold cheaply, but cured moss brought a much better price, so the real work came next.
The moss was piled up and kept wet so the gray outer layer would rot away, leaving a tough, springy black fiber inside. Curing could take anywhere from two to six months. The fibers were then hung over fences to dry, run through a simple gin to clean them, and pressed into 250 pound bales that were shipped out by rail. Towns like Inverness had moss mills right by the train station.
All that fiber ended up stuffed inside mattresses, pillows, furniture, and car seats across America. During World War II, most of Florida's crop went into seat padding for military vehicles. Then synthetic foam arrived, and by the 1950s and 1960s the moss gins were shutting down one by one.
