Florida is proving that not every coastline, wetland, forest, spring, farm, or wildlife habitat should be sacrificed for massive AI data centers.
From the Everglades and Florida Keys to the Gulf Coast, Atlantic beaches, inland springs, pine forests, wetlands, and freshwater lakes, Florida’s natural landscapes are part of what makes the Sunshine State so special.
People aren’t against technology. They just don’t want endless industrial expansion replacing wetlands, forests, wildlife habitat, farmland, open space, and the communities that generations of Floridians have worked hard to preserve. Once natural land disappears, it rarely comes back.
Progress matters. But so do clean springs, healthy wetlands, wildlife, beautiful beaches, working farms, clean water, and the coastal communities that make Florida unique.
From Jacksonville and Orlando to Tampa, Miami, Fort Myers, Sarasota, Tallahassee, the Everglades, and the Florida Keys — many residents believe growth should never come at the cost of everything that made people fall in love with the Sunshine State in the first place. Sometimes saying “no” isn’t about rejecting the future. It’s about protecting the future generations deserve to inherit.
