LA cops Cops sprung a massive sting on alleged street-racing hooligans in South Los Angeles early Saturday — reportedly detaining hundreds and preparing to haul away scores of vehicles. The Los Angeles Police Department told The California Post that officers issued a tactical alert at 3:21 a.m. and were still working the scene hours later, as of 9 a.m.
No details were immediately available on arrests or citations from the LAPD. Video from the scene showed dozens of officers surrounding a massive crowd as people wandered between cars trapped at the intersection of South Figueroa Street and West Alondra Boulevard. Tow trucks stood by, ready to pounce.
At least 300 racers and spectators were being detained, while roughly 100 vehicles were slated to be seized and towed. Some attendees were also reportedly cited for taking part in the illegal gathering. And, yes - it was the usual suspects, in case you were wondering...
