If you're like me, you'll add 15 minutes to your drive just to take the scenic route. Especially if it means leaving the main highway. Why rush through Florida - or any where else for that matter - when the back roads take you past palm trees, tropical gardens, waterfront homes, quiet bays, boats, orchards, cattle and horse farms, fruit and vegetable stands and endless sunshine?
Yeah, the scenic route might take a little longer, but in a lot of places, sometimes the drive is part of the vacation. Take the long way, enjoy the view, and let the sunshine do the rest.
One of my favorite sayings that almost only makes sense to me - although you may get it - is: 'If I was in a hurry, I'da left earlier...' Take your time. Chill. Enjoy the ride. You'll never know what you may see - especially here in Florida...
